Maxime Potvin (born 3 August 1987) is a Canadian taekwondo practitioner. [1] He is a former World Championships silver medalist. In 2015, he was named to Canada's team at the 2015 Pan American Games that were held in Toronto where he received a silver medal. [2]
Steven López is an American taekwondo competitor, a 2000 and 2004 Olympic gold medalist and a 2008 Olympic bronze medalist and 4th Dan in taekwondo. In 2001, he won the Lightweight Taekwondo World Championship, and in 2003 he won the Welterweight Taekwondo World Championship which he has since won in 2005, 2007 and 2009 making him the first Taekwondo fighter to win 5 World Championships. With 2 Olympic titles, 5 titles in taekwondo world championships and 1 title in taekwondo world cup he is the most titled champion after Hadi Saei who earns 9 world class titles.
Karine Sergerie is the 2007 world champion in women's lightweight taekwondo. She is Canada's first female world champion in the sport.
Mark López Mendieta is an American taekwondo practitioner. Mark represented the United States in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. He advanced to the men's -68 kg Gold Medal Match where he lost to Korea's Tae-Jin Son on a last second hit, giving him the silver medal. Along with his brother Steven and his sister Diana, he won a gold medal at the 2005 World Taekwondo Championships.
Aaron Arthur Cook is a taekwondo athlete who has represented Great Britain, the Isle of Man, and Moldova. He has been ranked the number one in the men's −80 kg division on several occasions. He is a three-time European champion having won the −80 kg title at the European Taekwondo Championships in 2010, 2012 representing Great Britain and 2014 representing the Isle of Man, and was the world junior champion in the −78 kg division in 2008.
Tim Thackrey is a retired taekwondo athlete for the USA & current strength & conditioning coach for Olympians & professional athletes. He was a seven-time US National Team Member in the flyweight class from 2000 through 2007. Notably, he won a gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games and a bronze medal at the 2003 World Championships. He was a resident athlete at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO from 2001-2003. In 2006, he was named USA Taekwondo's Male Athlete of the Year.
Melissa Pagnotta is a Canadian taekwondo fighter. Pagnotta participated at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, becoming the first Ontario representative in that sport. She qualified to the 2016 Olympics by winning Silver at the Pan Am Olympic Qualification event in Aguascalientes Mexico. Pagnotta saw success at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara where she won gold in the lightweight class. She won a silver at the 2015 World Grand Prix in Moscow losing a close match to Korea in sudden death. She has won the Pan Am Championships 4x and Commonwealth Championships 3x. She is coached by Canadian National team coach Edward Fong in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
François Coulombe-Fortier is a Canadian taekwondo practitioner. In 2011 Coulombe-Fortier won a bronze medal at the 2011 Pan American Games and later in the year followed up by winning a silver medal at the Pan American Olympic qualification tournament, and by doing so qualified to compete at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he reached the quarter-finals, defeating Gadzhi Umarov in the first round before losing to Daba Modibo Keita in the quarterfinal.
Doris Esmid Patiño Marín is a Colombian taekwondo practitioner. She won a silver medal for the 57 kg class at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, losing out to Mexico's Irma Contreras. She later followed that up with a bronze medal four years later at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada.
