History

McConnelsville was laid out in 1816 by Joseph McConnell. It was located near Fernwood, but no residents ever came. [2]

State Route 284 is a north–south state highway in east central Ohio, a U.S. state. State Route 284 has its southern terminus is at State Route 83 approximately 8 miles (13 km) northeast of McConnelsville, and just 0.25 miles (0.40 km) north of the western split of the concurrency State Route 83 has with State Route 78. The northern terminus of State Route 284 is at a T-intersection with State Route 146 in the unincorporated community of Chandlersville. A portion of SR 284 is part of the Morgan County Scenic Byway.

Ohio State Route 607 Highway in Ohio

State Route 607 (SR 607) is a north–south highway near McConnelsville, Ohio. The route starts at SR 60 and travels north to its terminus at SR 78, all located inside Morgan County. SR 607 was designated in 2011, after Monastery Road was transferred from township-maintenance to state-maintenance. The road was then repaved and realigned in 2012, and became signed on July 25, 2013. The route opened to the public on the next day.
