Abul Kalan Azad is a retired Bangladesh Civil Service officer,and politician.
Azad served as a Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Jamalpur-5 constituency as a candidate of Bangladesh Awami League in 2024. [1] [2] He has previously served as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister,Economic Relations Division,Power Division and Secretary to the PMO. [3]
Azad was arrested after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina led Awami League government. [4]
Politics of Bangladesh takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic republic,whereby the Prime Minister of Bangladesh is the head of government,and of a multi-party system. Executive power is exercised by the government. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament. The Constitution of Bangladesh was written in 1972,and has undergone seventeen amendments.

Abdus Samad Azad was a Bangladeshi diplomat and politician. He was elected to Bangladesh's parliament five times from 1970 to 2001. He was also elected Member of Lower Assembly in the Parliament of the then East Pakistan. He became President of the Muslim Student Federation of All - Asam in 1946 and led the Language Movement in 1952.

Abdul Kader Siddique is a Bangladeshi politician. He served as a Mukti Bahini member and organizer of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He fought with an estimated 17,000-strong guerrilla force in the Tangail region against the Pakistan Army. The army was called Kaderia Bahini. At the end of the war in 1971,Siddique's forces entered Dhaka along with the Indian forces,signaling the end of the war. He was awarded Bir Uttom by the Government of Bangladesh. Since 1999,he has been serving as the leader of his newly formed party,the Krishak Sramik Janata League.

General elections were held in Bangladesh on 29 December 2008. The two main parties in the election were the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP),led by Khaleda Zia,and the Bangladesh Awami League Party,led by Sheikh Hasina. Obaidul Quader is a Bangladeshi politician who has been the General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League since October 2016. He is also the Media Adviser for the Bangladesh Awami League and regularly conducts press conferences on their behalf. Previously,he served as the State Minister for Youth and Sports between 1996 and 2001. In July and August 2024,widespread protests erupted against the Awami League government,which violently suppressed the demonstrations,resulting in the deaths of over a thousand people,the majority of whom were students and children. Awami League is directly responsible for these murders. Amid rising public outrage and demands for accountability for these atrocities,Quader has been reported missing since August 5,2024.
Hasan Mahmud is a Bangladesh Awami League politician. He was Minister of Foreign Affairs in Fourth Hasina Cabinet in 2024. Hasan was a former Member of National Parliament representing the Chittagong-7 constituency. In 2019 he was appointed as Minister of Information and Broadcasting in Third Hasina Cabinet.
