The Bangla Academy is the official regulatory body of the Bengali language in Bangladesh. It is an autonomous institution funded by the Government of Bangladesh that fosters the Bengali language,literature and culture,works to develop and implement national language policy and conducts original research in Bengali. Established in 1955,it is located in the Burdwan House in Shahbagh,Dhaka,within the grounds of the University of Dhaka and Suhrawardy Udyan. The Bangla Academy hosts the annual Ekushey Book Fair.
Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah was a Bangladeshi poet noted for his revolutionary and romantic poetry. He is considered one of the leading Bengali poets of the 1970s. He received Munir Chaudhury Memorial Award in 1980 and Ekushey Padak in 2024
Syed Shamsul Haq was a Bangladeshi writer. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1966,Ekushey Padak in 1984 and Independence Day Award in 2000 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contributions to Bangla literature. His notable works include "Payer Awaj Pawa Jai","Nishiddho Loban","Khelaram Khele Ja","Neel Dongshon" and "Mrigoya".
Abdul Gaffar Choudhury was a Bangladeshi-born British writer,journalist,columnist,political analyst and poet. He wrote the lyrics to "Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano",a widely celebrated song commemorating the Bengali Language Movement. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1967,Ekushey Padak in 1983,and Independence Day Award in 2009.
Ekushey Padak is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh,introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields,including culture,education,and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award.

Her notable songs are Prothom Bangladesh Amar Sesh Bangladesh,Ekbar Jete De Na Amar Chotto Sonar Gaye,Je Chilo Drishtir Shimanay and Ek Tara Tui Desher Kotha. She was the recipient of the Ekushey Padak in 1992 and Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the film Chhutir Phande (1990).
Barishal Zilla School,popularly known as BZS,is a public educational institution for boys,located in Barisal,Bangladesh. It was the first high school established in Barisal Division. Founded as Barisal English School on 23 December 1829 by W. N. Garrett,it began with 27 students. In 1853,the school was renamed Barisal Zilla School.
Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal was a Bangladeshi songwriter,poet,essayist,critic and presenter. In his early life,he was a singer on East Bengal radio and television. He was a professor of Bengali literature at the University of Rajshahiin 1966 and became professor at University of Chittagong in 1973,also worked for the government as the Director General of the Bangla Academy from 1986 until his death. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in 1987. He published only three collections of poetry before he died of a heart attack in 1989.

S. M. Mohsin was a Bangladeshi stage and television actor. He became an honorary fellow of the Bangla Academy in 2018. In 2020,he was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to acting.

He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2011 and Ekushey Padak in 2019 for his contributions in research.
Shahadat Chowdhury was a Bangladeshi journalist and editor of several news magazines. He served as the editor of Weekly Bichitra from 1972 until its publication was ceased in 1997. He then served as the editor of Shaptahik 2000 and Anandadhara.
