Meadowbrook is a Syracuse, New York neighborhood, located in the southeastern corner of the city. It corresponds to Onondaga County Census Tract 46. It is named after Meadow Brook, which runs through it and into Butternut Creek. [1]
Its northern border runs along Salt Springs and Springfield Roads to the north, where it borders the Salt Springs neighborhood. To the west, its borders are Westmoreland Avenue, Cumberland Avenue, and Nottingham Road, where it borders the Westcott and University neighborhoods. To the south and east the neighborhood borders the Town of DeWitt.
Meadowbrook is bisected by New York State Route 92, East Genesee Street. Other major roads in the neighborhood include Meadowbrook Drive, Euclid Avenue, and Hillsboro Parkway. Most streets do not have sidewalks, although there are plans to install some.[ citation needed ]
Le Moyne College, Syracuse's second-largest college, is located in Meadowbrook's northeast corner. Nottingham High School is located on East Genesee Street, near the center of the neighborhood. There are two primary schools: H.W. Smith School, and Solace Elementary School. The Manlius Pebble Hill School, an independent pre-K to 12 school is located near the neighborhood, in DeWitt.
There is not much retail located in Meadowbrook. Nottingham Plaza (with about 10 small stores) and P&C Plaza are in its southwest corner near/on the border with DeWitt. [2]
Meadowbrook is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Syracuse, with suburban-style housing, as a result of which it is sometimes referred to as "the suburb in the city." [ citation needed ] 80.7 percent of housing in the neighborhood is owner-occupied, about twice the citywide average. As of 2010-2014 Census information, 5,202 people lived in Meadowbrook. [3] From that same period, the median household income for the neighborhood was $73,000. [4] Registered voters are 54% Democrat, 19% Republican, 21% non-enrolled, and 5% percent other.[ citation needed ]
The Ashton House, Harry N. Burhans House, Fuller House, Hoeffer House, Poehlman House, Sanderson House at 112 Scottholm Terrace, Sanderson House at 301 Scottholm Boulevard, Scottholm Tract Historic District, and Louis and Celia Skoler Residence are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. New York State Route 92 (NY 92) is a state highway located in central New York in the United States. The western terminus of the route is at an intersection with U.S. Route 11 in downtown Syracuse. Its eastern terminus is at a junction with US 20 west of the village of Cazenovia. NY 92 is known as East Genesee Street through Syracuse and DeWitt; from DeWitt to Cazenovia, its name varies by location. It heads generally eastward through Syracuse to DeWitt, where it crosses Interstate 481 (I-481) while concurrent with NY 5. At the east end of the overlap, it splits off follows a more southeasterly routing through the village of Manlius to Cazenovia.
Ward Wellington Ward (1875–1932) was an American architect who worked mostly in Syracuse, New York. He designed more than 250 buildings, of which more than 120 were built and survive. He was influenced by, and contributed to, the Arts and Crafts movement in architecture. Ward's work is in varying styles, but the houses most typically include crafts-like details such as decorative cutouts in shutters. His designs almost always include garages, gateways, and other small structures like gazebos.

Scottholm is an historic housing development in the Meadowbrook neighborhood of Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York. It has been registered as a National Historic District. It is bounded by Salt Springs Road on the north; Brookford Road and East Avenue on the east; Meadowbrook Drive on the south; and Scottholm Terrace on the west. Scottholm consists of single‐family homes of varying styles built in the early 20th century. When it was built, Scottholm was marketed to upper middle class and upper class residents. Today, the area attracts a diverse population of white collar, academic, and creative class professionals. Nottingham High School, in the Syracuse City School District, is nearby.
