Sedgwick is one of the 26 officially recognized neighborhoods of Syracuse, New York, United States. It borders four other Syracuse neighborhoods, with Northside to the north and west, Near Northeast to the southwest, Lincoln Park to the south, and Eastwood to the east.
Sedgwick, and more specifically Sedgwick Farms, are an established, historic, affluent, and architecturally significant district in near northeast Syracuse which features the most elaborate, extensive, and eclectic collection of early-20th century residences in the city. The stately homes found in this neighborhood represent some of the finest works of Syracuse architects, landscape architects, interior designers, and builders, including Ward Wellington Ward, Dwight James Baum, Paul Hueber, Bonta and Taylor, Archimedes Russell, and Harry King. The John G. Ayling House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.[1]
Sedgwick and Sedgwick Farms are well regarded for their architectural and landscape diversity. Winding boulevards and tree-lined streets feature noteworthy historical revival examples of the Italianate, Georgian Colonial, Dutch Colonial, Federal, Norman French, Spanish, and English Tudor pre-war residential architecture. The neighborhood is characterized by its Garden City town planning principles, bucolic tree-lined streets, and manicured landscaping. In 1977, the Sedgwick-James-Highland Preservation district was first established as the largest preservation district in Syracuse.[citation needed]
The Sedgwick-James-Highland Preservation District contains approximately 285 residences, one church, Lincoln Junior High School, and a number of business establishments, several of which are residential conversions. The district divides itself into three distinct but contiguous sections: Upper James Street, the original Sedgwick Farms Land Tract, and a contiguous length of Highland Avenue with side streets Oak and DeWitt. These three areas are unified by the continuity of their architectural styles, urban form, and neighborhood character. The residences in these areas are among the finest in the city and approximately 95% of them were built in the first three decades of the twentieth century.
Highland and James streets, laid out in the nineteenth century, run parallel and form a southwest-northeast axis for the district. Extending north from the center section of this axis is the Sedgwick Farms Tract. Sedgwick Drive is the main landscaped boulevard at the heart of Sedgwick Farms.
Mount Vernon is a neighborhood immediately north of downtown Baltimore, Maryland. Designated a National Historic Landmark District and a city Cultural District, it is one of the city's oldest neighborhoods and originally was home to the city's wealthiest and most fashionable families. The name derives from the Mount Vernon home of George Washington; the original Washington Monument, a massive pillar commenced in 1815 to commemorate the first president of the United States, is the defining feature of the neighborhood.

The Northside is a neighborhood in the city of Syracuse, New York (USA) consisting of a residential area bordered by commercial corridors. As defined by Syracuse's "Tomorrow's Neighborhoods Today" planning system, the Northside is a large section of the city of Syracuse, covering almost four square miles. There are 16 census tracts, within which are 36 census blockgroups. Thus, there are many sub-regions that have developed with their own unique identities, such as the Near Northeast neighborhood, the Little Italy District and the Hawley-Green Historic District.

In geographical order from south to north and east to west, it contains the subdivisions of Magnolia Park, Bay Point, Morningside, Bayside, Belle Meade, Shorecrest, and Palm Grove. The MiMo District along Biscayne Boulevard in the area is host to many art galleries, shops and restaurants.
The Boston–Edison Historic District is a historic neighborhood located in the geographic center of Detroit, Michigan. It consists of over 900 homes built on four east/west streets: West Boston Boulevard, Chicago Boulevard, Longfellow Avenue, and Edison Avenue, stretching from Woodward Avenue on the east to Linwood Avenue on the west. It is one of the largest residential historic districts in the nation. It is surrounded by Sacred Heart Major Seminary to the west, the Arden Park-East Boston Historic District and the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament to the east, and the Atkinson Avenue Historic District to the south. The district was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1973 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Broadway–Flushing is a historic district and residential subsection of Flushing, Queens, New York City. The neighborhood comprises approximately 2,300 homes. It is located between 155th and 170th Streets to the west and east respectively, and is bounded on the north by Bayside and 29th Avenues, and on the south by Northern Boulevard and Crocheron Avenue. Broadway–Flushing is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Clairemont - Great Lakes is a historic neighborhood in the north central section of the Atlanta, Georgia suburb of Decatur. It primarily consists of residences and churches. However, there are businesses on West Ponce de Leon Avenue, in the southernmost section of the neighborhood. Its rough boundaries are Coventry Road, Ponce de Leon Avenue and Commerce Drive on the south; Church Street on the east; Scott Boulevard on the north; and Willow on the northeast. The section of Superior Avenue north of Scott Boulevard is also considered part of this neighborhood. Ridgeland Park, located northeast of the Clairemont - Great Lakes neighborhood, is not presently considered part of the neighborhood. It was developed later (1946–1950) and is in unincorporated DeKalb County. However, in 2008 the city of Decatur began evaluating annexation of this neighborhood, which is contiguous to the rest of the development.
The Palmer Woods Historic District is a residential historic district bounded by Seven Mile Road, Woodward Avenue, and Strathcona Drive in Detroit, Michigan. There are approximately 295 homes in the 188-acre (0.76 km2) district, which is between the City of Highland Park in Wayne County and the City of Ferndale in Oakland County. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. The Detroit Golf Club is nearby.
The Bergen Section of Jersey City, New Jersey is the neighborhood on either side of Kennedy Boulevard between Saint Peter's College/ McGinley Square and Communipaw Avenue in the Bergen-Lafayette section of the city. The name Bergen, used throughout Hudson County, is taken from the original Bergen, New Netherland settlement at Bergen Square.

The Cottage Home Historic District is a historic district and neighborhood located on the near east side of Indianapolis, Indiana. A small portion of Cottage Home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places while a larger area is listed on the state and local levels. Known for its preponderance of "cottage-style" homes built with strong Victorian influences, Cottage Home has historically been a working class neighborhood. Numerous industrial buildings are also scattered throughout the district, providing a base of economic activity. Today, however, many of these buildings are vacant, providing a special challenge to preservation and urban renewal efforts.
Broadacres is a subdivision in Houston, Texas within the Boulevard Oaks community. It is located north of Bissonnet Street, south of U.S. Route 59, west of the Houston Museum District, and east of other subdivisions of Boulevard Oaks. The neighborhood is known for its large lots, historic preservationism, broad tree canopies, wide streets with medians, and affluence.
The Treadwell Farm Historic District is a small historic district located on parts of East 61st and East 62nd Street between Second and Third Avenues, in the Upper East Side neighborhood of the borough of Manhattan in New York City.
Scottholm is an historic housing development in the Meadowbrook neighborhood of Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York. It has been registered as a National Historic District. It is bounded by Salt Springs Road on the north; Brookford Road and East Avenue on the east; Meadowbrook Drive on the south; and Scottholm Terrace on the west. Scottholm consists of single‐family homes of varying styles built in the early 20th century. When it was built, Scottholm was marketed to upper middle class and upper class residents. Today, the area attracts a diverse population of white collar, academic, and creative class professionals. Nottingham High School, in the Syracuse City School District, is nearby.
