Government of India Legislative, executive and judiciary powers of India

The Government of India, often abbreviated as GoI, is the union government created by the constitution of India as the legislative, executive and judicial authority of the union of 29 states and seven union territories of a constitutionally democratic republic. It is located in New Delhi, the capital of India.

MCC is responsible for allotting seats for undergraduate, postgraduate and super-specialty medical and dental courses in government-run/aided colleges and deemed-to-be-university colleges. [3]

MCC allots seats online on the basis of the candidate's score in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Factors considered during allotment are merit, reservation eligibility and the preference list submitted by the candidate.

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT) is an entrance examination in India for students who wish to study undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses and dental courses in government or private medical colleges and dental colleges in India. The undergraduate NEET (UG), for MBBS and BDS courses, is currently conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which provides the results to the Directorate General of Health Services at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Prior to 2019, the test was administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in partnership with Prometric Testing Pvt Ltd headquartered in the USA.. NEET-UG replaced the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) and all individual MBBS exams conducted by states or colleges themselves in 2013. However, many colleges and institutes had taken a stay order and conducted private examinations for admission to their MBBS and BDS courses. Last NEET-UG was held on 6 May, 2018 and results were declared on 4 June of the same year.

Under-Graduate admissions

The MCC conducts the seat allotment process for 15% (All India quota, AIQ) seats in all government-run/aided colleges and variable number of seats in deemed colleges for MBBS and BDS courses.

Usually, the counselling starts in a few days after the declaration of the result of NEET-UG exam and the counselling scheme, counselling schedule, list of participating institutes, seat matrix and frequently asked questions are put up on its website (referenced below).
