Meeco is a music producer and composer who has worked and recorded with a range of well-known artists from various genres, including jazz, hip-hop, soul, pop, and Latin. He is known for moving between different styles of music, blending jazz improvisations with hip-hop and soul.

Collaborations

Meeco has released six albums, with a seventh to be released in 2024. Amargo Mel (2009) [1] and Perfume e Caricias (2010) [2] [3] came out on the German label Connector and on the US label Spectra Jazz. His third album, Beauty of the Night (released in April 2012), features performances by Brazilian singer Eloisia (Nouvelle Vague), Freddy Cole, Joe Bataan, Gregory Porter, Lionel Loueke, and Jane Birkin. [4] In 2015, he released Souvenirs of Love on the established Jazz label "Double Moon Records".[ citation needed ]

The Clifford Brown Jazz Festival is a free jazz music festival held annually in June at Rodney Square in Wilmington, Delaware, USA. The first festival was held in 1989 on the open lawn in the center of the city, and has grown into the largest free jazz festival on the East Coast. The event is held to keep alive the memory of Clifford Brown who died in a traffic accident in 1956 along with pianist Richie Powell. Pieces written by Brown and tribute pieces are often played. Some acts have been staged at the Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, where a fee was charged.

The Berkeley Jazz Festival is held once a year at the outdoors Hearst Greek Theatre on the University of California, Berkeley campus. The theatre overlooks the San Francisco Bay at Hearst & Gayley Road. The festival was started in 1967 by Darlene Chan.

Steve Wilson is an American jazz multi-instrumentalist, who is best known in the musical community as a flutist and an alto and soprano saxophonist. He also plays the clarinet and the piccolo. Wilson performs on many different instruments and has performed and recorded on over twenty-five albums. His interests include folk, jazz, classical, world music, and experimental music. Wilson is currently on the faculty of New England Conservatory in Boston, Massachusetts. He was elected as an American Champion by the National Flute Association. Wilson has maintained a busy career working as a session musician, and has contributed to many musicians of note both in the recording studios, but as a sideman on tours. Over the years he has participated in engagements with several musical ensembles, as well as his own solo efforts.

Jerry Weldon is a tenor saxophonist, noted for his involvement in various groups such as Lionel Hampton Orchestra and Harry Connick, Jr.'s big band. He is seen as a "veteran" of the New York jazz scene.
