Meegan Fitzharris (born 1972) is a former Australian politician,who was a member of the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly for the Yerrabi electorate from October 2016 to July 2019,and before that,member for the electorate of Molonglo after she won a countback to fill the Legislative Assembly seat vacated by former Chief Minister,Katy Gallagher,in January 2015. [1] [2] She was the Minister for Transport and Municipal Services,Minister for Higher Education,Training and Research and Minister for Health until her resignation from politics in July 2019. [3]
Meegan Fitzharris was born in Wellington,New Zealand,in 1972. She was educated at the University of Otago and the University of Auckland,and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters in International Development. [2]
Fitzharris moved to Australia in 1998. [1] She has three children. [2] She has New Zealand citizenship. [4]
Before commencing a political career,Fitzharris worked for New South Wales Police,Australian Federal Police and the Attorney-General's Department. [1]
Fitzharris was a Labor Party candidate in the 2012 Australian Capital Territory general election. When she did not win a seat,she became the chief of staff and senior adviser for then Minister,later Chief Minister,Andrew Barr. [2]
Chief Minister Katy Gallagher resigned from the Assembly on 23 December 2014 to pursue a seat in the Australian Senate. [2] Ahead of Gallagher's resignation,media speculation was that Fitzharris would be the most likely candidate to take Gallagher's Assembly seat. [5]
On 15 January 2015,ACT Electoral Commissioner Phil Green announced Fitzharris had been elected as the new member for Molonglo in the Legislative Assembly,after holding a countback of the 2012 Legislative Assembly election. [1] [2]
In January 2016,Fitzharris was appointed to the Barr ministry,taking on the transport,health and higher education portfolios and becoming one of ACT Labor's most senior frontbenchers. As transport minister,she oversaw the introduction of light rail in Canberra, [6] but also weathered complaints about the rollout of a new bus network in 2019. [7] As health minister,she ordered an inquiry into allegations of bullying and misconduct at ACT Health. [8]
On 27 June 2019,Fitzharris announced she would resign from her cabinet roles on 1 July and would resign from politics for family reasons shortly after that. [9] She resigned from the Legislative Assembly on 8 July,creating a casual vacancy which was filled by a countback. [10]
Gary John Joseph Humphries is a Deputy President of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. He was a member of the Australian Senate representing the Australian Capital Territory for the Liberal Party of Australia from 2003 to 2013. He was the Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory from 2000 to 2001;and was elected to the first parliament of the Australian Capital Territory,in 1989,later representing the Molonglo electorate until 2003.

From 2002 to 2006 Smyth was the ACT Leader of the Opposition and served briefly as the Deputy Chief Minister during 2000 and 2001. He has held the ACT portfolios Urban Services,Business,Tourism and the Arts,and Police and Emergency Services.
Andrew James Barr is an Australian politician who is has been serving as the 7th Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory since 2014. He has been an Australian Labor Party member in the ACT Legislative Assembly since 2006,after being elected on a countback to replace former Treasurer Ted Quinlan,who resigned mid-term. Barr was immediately promoted to Cabinet upon his election. On 11 December 2014 he was elected as Chief Minister after his predecessor,Katy Gallagher,resigned and announced her intention to run for the Senate. In addition to being Chief Minister,he holds the portfolios of Treasurer,Social Inclusion and Equality,Tourism and Special Events,and Trade,Industry and Investment.

The Second Barr Ministry was the 14th ministry of the Government of the Australian Capital Territory,led by Labor Chief Minister Andrew Barr and his deputy Yvette Berry. It was appointed on 1 November 2016,following the 2016 general election held two weeks earlier. The Greens signed a new formal Parliamentary Agreement with Labor which continued to maintain Green's leader Shane Rattenbury's position in the Ministry,whilst mandating that the Greens not move or support any motion of no confidence in the Labor Government,except in instances of gross misconduct or corruption.

Green's Shane Rattenbury continued to serve as a minister for the remainder of the parliamentary term,as part of the Labor-Greens parliamentary agreement signed in 2012 at the start of the term.
