Meet the Richardsons is a British comedy television series that premiered on 27 February 2020, on Dave. It stars husband and wife comedians Jon Richardson and Lucy Beaumont as fictionalised versions of themselves discussing their lives in a mockumentary format. Various comedians and celebrities make appearances, usually also as fictionalised versions of themselves.

Contents

In August 2020, it was announced an 8-episode second series would screen in 2021, with two Christmas specials broadcast in December 2020. [1] A third series began broadcasting in March 2022. In May 2022, a further two series were commissioned, with the announcement that Manchester based company King of Sunshine Productions would be the new television company responsible for making the show. [2] The fourth series began broadcasting on 6 April 2023, with all episodes available to stream on UKTV Play on the day of release. The fifth series began broadcasting on 8 April 2024, with all episodes available to stream on UKTV Play on the day of release. [3] [4]

In August 2020, Dave commissioned a second series of the show plus two Christmas specials to be broadcast at the end of 2020. [8] [9] [10]

Series 5

In June 2023, Jon Richardson, Adrian Chiles, and Matt Forde were made honorary members of Sheffield F.C. after visiting the club to film for the series. [11]

Crackanory is a storytelling television series aimed at adults and inspired by the popular children's series Jackanory. It is broadcast on the UKTV channel Dave. Each episode features tales narrated by contemporary comedians and actors, containing a mix of live-action, original music and animation, all read from the same oversized chair, in a set consistent and reflective of the story. In each episode Davies holds an unscripted roundtable discussion with four guests. The guests include stand-up comedians, comedy writers and other well-known figures in the entertainment industry. Each episode begins untitled, hence the series name, but a title is chosen at the conclusion of the episode, often a full or paraphrased quote from one of the guest's anecdotes.

Lucy Ann Beaumont is a British actress, writer, and stand-up comedian from Kingston upon Hull, England. Her performance is based largely on anecdotes about Hull and the wider Northern England region. She was a finalist on So You Think You're Funny in 2011 and won the BBC Radio New Comedy Awards in 2012. Her 2014 debut show at the Edinburgh Festival, We Can Twerk It Out, was nominated for that year's Best Newcomer Award.

In the show Jon Richardson and the panel talk about and rank worries in order of severity in the Worry Index. Worries are categorised as either a low, moderate or severe worry. The first series also features sketches in which Rose Matafeo and Richard Gadd research topics Richardson is worried about. A second series of ten episodes began on 3 July 2019.

<i>Hypothetical</i> (TV series) British TV series or programme

Hypothetical is a British television comedy panel show created by British comedian Josh Widdicombe, with Tom Craine and Matthew Crosby. Widdicombe hosts the show alongside fellow comedian James Acaster. The TV series features teams of celebrity guests, who are presented with a bizarre hypothetical situation by Widdicombe. The guests must explain how they would deal with the situation, following the rules given by Acaster, who then awards points based on how well he thinks they have done. The show ran for four series, from 6 February 2019 to 6 July 2022.

Darren Harriott is a British stand-up comedian from Oldbury, West Midlands. He was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award and Best Show Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2017 and 2019 respectively.

Big Zuu's Big Eats is a British comedy television series that premiered on 15 May 2020, on Dave. It stars rapper and grime artist Big Zuu, along with friends Tubsey and Hyder. In each episode they meet a celebrity and discuss memorable and favourite foods, following which the trio cook a meal for the celebrity.
