Mehmet Ali Erbil (born 8 February 1957) [2] is a Turkish actor, comedian and talk show host of Kurdish origin.
Mehmet Ali was born in Istanbul, Turkey, as the son of Sadettin Erbil, a theatre and film actor, in 1957. [3] He is the grandson of Mehmed Efendi and the great-grandson of Mehmed Esad Erbilî.
He completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul, Ankara and Balıkesir. In 1970, he enrolled in the Theatre Department of State Conservatory in Ankara. Having graduated, he started his acting career in Ankara State Theatre. Afterwards, he moved to Istanbul and continued his career in musical films. In 1984, he first started his television career in a programme he hosted together with Derya Baykal and Çiğdem Tunç.
He currently suffers from a rare disease called capillary leak syndrome. [4]
His TV show Çarkıfelek (Turkey's version of Wheel of Fortune ) was cancelled on 6 October 2010 due to Erbil's derogatory reference to Alevis. [5] The program started again in September 2011 on TNT.
Erbil is also the Turkish voice of Sheriff Woody from the Toy Story franchise.
In March 2023, a court sentenced him to a judicial fine of ₺13,100 for "insult" and to 4 months and 15 days in prison for "sexual harassment" of Ece Ronay Bilir. [6]
Ali Kemal Sunal was a Turkish actor and comedian. With Hababam Sınıfı, Kapıcılar Kralı and Davaro, Sunal gained large popularity amongst Turkish cinema goers and was famed for his character "Şaban", a role he frequently played.

Hababam Sınıfı is a 1975 Turkish comedy film, directed by Ertem Eğilmez based on a novel by Rıfat Ilgaz, featuring an ensemble cast including Kemal Sunal, Tarık Akan and Münir Özkul that tells the adventures of a private school class students who are challenged by the arrival of a new headmaster. The film, which went on nationwide general release on 1 April 1975, was a success in Turkey and was followed by five direct sequels; Hababam Sınıfı Sınıfta Kaldı, Hababam Sınıfı Uyanıyor, Hababam Sınıfı Tatilde, Hababam Sınıfı Dokuz Doğuruyor and Hababam Sınıfı Güle Güle. The enduring popularity of the series resulted in three later sequels; Hababam Sınıfı Merhaba, Hababam Sınıfı Askerde and Hababam Sınıfı Üç Buçuk
Kartal Tibet was a Turkish actor, academic, director, screenwriter and producer.
Rıfat Ilgaz was a Turkish teacher, writer and poet. He became especially known for his novel "Hababam Sınıfı". He maintained a socialist line both in his writings and in his personal life. His magazine work, which continued Turkey's most turbulent political flow, caused him to spend time in courthouse corridors and prison, like many writers of the same period.[8] In his very productive literary life, he wrote works in many different fields, from poetry to humorous stories, from novels to children's books. His work "Karartma Geceleri", which was once confiscated, was included in the list of 100 Essential Works in 2004.[9] The author's works are now protected by Çınar Publications, which he founded together with his son Aydın Ilgaz. These books are printed by Türkiye İş Bankası Kültür Yayınları.[10]
Münir Özkul was a Turkish cinema and theatre actor who was awarded the title of "State Artist of Turkey". In 1972, he won a Golden Orange Award for Best Actor for his performance in Sev Kardeşim.
