Melanie Vallejo (born 27 October 1979) is an Australian actress who is best known for portraying Madison Rocca, the Blue Mystic Ranger in Power Rangers Mystic Force , and Sophie Wong in the Australian television series Winners & Losers .

Personal life

Vallejo is a native Australian of Filipino and Ukrainian descent. [1]

She dated her co-star Firass Dirani (Nick Russell/Mystic Red Ranger) from 2006 until 2009.

Vallejo married New Zealander Matt Kingston, an advertising planner, in June 2011. [2] They live in New Zealand [3] and have two children: Sonny Kingston, born October 2016, [4] and Luna Grace, born October 2019. [3] In 2001, she graduated from Flinders University Drama Centre. [5]

Career

Vallejo played the role of shy Madison Rocca in Power Rangers Mystic Force . Since then, she has starred in other Australian shows, including Winners & Losers .

Winners & Losers is an Australian television drama series first broadcast on the Seven Network on 22 March 2011. It was created by the producers of Packed to the Rafters and is aired in the show's former time slot. Winners & Losers focuses on the lives of four women living in Melbourne, after they win a large amount of money in the Oz Lotto. Seven renewed Winners & Losers for a second season in July 2011 and it began airing from 26 June 2012. Two months later, it was announced the series had been renewed for a third season. Sophie Wong is a fictional character in the Australian Channel Seven drama series Winners & Losers, played by Melanie Vallejo. Sophie is one of the show's four female protagonists and made her debut screen appearance in the pilot episode "Covert Aggression in Netball", which was broadcast on 22 March 2011. Vallejo did not undertake much preparation for her audition, opting to be natural to impress the casting staff. Upon receiving the role she moved home from Adelaide to Melbourne for filming. The series focuses on the lives of Sophie, Frances James, Jenny Gross and Bec Gilbert who attend a school reunion and later win money on the Oz Lotto.

She made her debut screen appearance in the pilot episode "Covert Aggression in Netball", which was broadcast on the Seven Network on 22 March 2011. Tuckwell-Smith auditioned for the role of Bec. At the callback, she was introduced to Blair McDonough, who was cast as Bec's partner, before she was given the role. Doug Graham is a fictional character in the Australian Channel Seven drama series Winners & Losers, played by Tom Wren. Doug made his debut screen appearance in the pilot episode "Covert Aggression in Netball", which was broadcast on 22 March 2011. Doug is one of the show's regular male characters. Wren was cast in the show after only working as a guest artist on other shows. Actor Stephen Phillips also auditioned for the role but he was cast as Doug's friend Zach Armstrong.
