Melissa Marsh (born 28 May 1985) is an Australian former professional basketball player. She spent her whole career playing in the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL) and State Basketball League (SBL).

Basketball career

Marsh played in the WNBL from 2000/01 to 2013/14 for the Perth Lynx / West Coast Waves (2000–2005 and 2006–2014) and Adelaide Fellas (2005/06). She also played for the Willetton Tigers in the SBL from 2000 to 2004 and 2007 to 2015. She played 266 WNBL games and over 250 SBL games. [1] She retired from the WNBL in February 2014. [2] [3]

With the Willetton Tigers, Marsh won championships in 2004, 2009, 2010, 2011. [3]

In August 2022, Marsh was inducted into the Basketball WA Hall of Fame. [4] [5]

Personal life

Marsh's father Geoffrey, and brothers Shaun and Mitchell, have all represented the Australian national cricket team. [1] [6]

Rhys Anthony Vague is an Australian professional basketball player for the Kagawa Five Arrows of the Japanese B.League. He made his debut for his hometown Perth Wildcats in the NBL as a development player in 2014. After four seasons as a development player, he was elevated to a fully contracted player in 2018. In his six seasons with the Wildcats, he was a part of four championship teams in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020. Vague also made a name for himself in the State Basketball League (SBL), playing for the Cockburn Cougars, East Perth Eagles and Stirling Senators, earning the SBL's Most Improved Player in 2015.

Ryan Petrik is an Australian basketball coach who currently serves as head coach of the Perth Lynx of the Women's National Basketball League (WNBL). He started his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Rockingham Flames Men's SBL team before being elevated to the head coaching role of the Flames Women's SBL team, where over 10 seasons he guided them to three grand finals and two championships while earning WSBL Coach of the Year honours. Between 2015 and 2020, he served as an assistant coach with the Lynx, and between 2019 and 2021, he served as head coach of the Flames men's team. In 2022, he was named the WNBL Coach of the Year.

The 2007 WSBL season was the 19th season of the Women's State Basketball League (SBL). The regular season began on Friday 30 March and ended on Saturday 4 August. The finals began on Friday 10 August and ended on Friday 7 September, when the Perry Lakes Hawks defeated the Stirling Senators in the WSBL Grand Final.
