Memar Ajami is a Baku Metro station. It was opened on 31 December 1985. It was formerly called Mikrorayon and is named after Ajami Nakhchivani. [1] It became a transfer station to the Purple Line on 19 April 2016. [1]

Baku Metro is a rapid transit system serving Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Ajami ibn Abubakr Nakhchivani was a 12th and 13th-century Muslim architect who contributed greatly to the architecture of Nakhchivan. He was the founder of the Nakhchivan school of architecture and is the architect of buildings such as Yusif ibn Kuseyir Mausoleum, Momine Khatun Mausoleum and Juma Mosque.
