When it originally opened, the building housed a jail and the T.B. Scott Free Library in addition to the city offices. [2]
It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The city hall moved to a newer location in 1977.
Merrill City Hall was constructed in the Richardsonian Romanesque style and made of local brick, sandstone, and virgin timber. [3]
Currently, the building serves as an apartment complex known as the Merrill City Hall Apartments. It still incorporates many of the historical elements of the building into the design of the individual apartment units. [4]

Claude and Starck was an architectural firm in Madison, Wisconsin, at the turn of the twentieth century. The firm was a partnership of Louis W. Claude (1868-1951) and Edward F. Starck (1868-1947). Established in 1896, the firm dissolved in 1928. The firm designed over 175 buildings in Madison.
The Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts is a 1,731-seat theatre located in the city's theatre district at 350 Madison Street in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. It was built in 1928 as the Wilson Theatre, designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1976, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
The T.B. Scott Free Library is a public library in the city of Merrill, Wisconsin. The building, completed in 1911, was designed by the firm of Claude and Starck and funded with $17,500 from the Carnegie Corporation. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Dallas Hall is a historic building on the campus of Southern Methodist University (SMU) in University Park, Texas. Influenced by the Roman Pantheon and architecture by Thomas Jefferson, it was constructed by the architectural firm of Shepley, Rutan and Coolidge in 1915. The first building on campus, it housed most of the university's operations. The campus has since been expanded around Dallas Hall, but it remains the center of SMU. It was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
