Mia Golam Parwar is a Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami politician and the former Member of Parliament of Khulna-5. [1] He was elected as Secretary General of the Party for the 2020-2022 session.
Parwar was elected to parliament from Khulna-5 as a Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate in 2001. [2]
Recently,he was elected as the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the party's 2020–2022 electoral session.
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party is one of the major political parties in Bangladesh. It was founded on 1 September 1978 by the late Bangladeshi president Ziaur Rahman,after the presidential election of 1978,with a view of uniting people with a nationalist ideology. Following Rahman's assassination in 1981,his widow,Khaleda Zia,took over leadership of the party and presided as chairperson until her imprisonment,in 2018. Since then,Tarique Rahman,the son of Rahman and Zia,has served as acting chairperson and has run the affairs of the party from London.
Jamaat-e-Islami,or Jamaat as it is commonly known,is an Islamist political party based in Pakistan and founded by Abul Ala Maududi. It is the Pakistani successor to Jamaat-e-Islami,which was founded in colonial India in 1941. Its objective is the transformation of Pakistan into an Islamic state,governed by Sharia law,through a gradual legal,and political process. JI strongly opposes capitalism,communism,liberalism,and secularism as well as economic practices such as offering bank interest. JI is a "vanguard party",whose members are intended to be leaders spreading party beliefs and influence. Supporters not thought qualified to be members may become "affiliates",and beneath them are "sympathizers". The party leader is called an ameer. Although it does not have a large popular following,the party is quite influential and considered one of the major Islamic movements in Pakistan,along with Deobandi and Barelvi.

On 29 October 2014,he was convicted of masterminding the Demra massacre by the International Crimes Tribunal of Bangladesh. Nizami was the Member of Parliament for the Pabna-1 constituency from 1991 to 1996 and again from 2001 to 2006. He also served as the Bangladeshi Minister of Agriculture and Minister of Industry.
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 29 December 2008. The two main parties in the election were the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP),led by Khaleda Zia,and the Bangladesh Awami League Party,led by Sheikh Hasina. The Bangladesh Awami League Party formed a fourteen-party Grand Alliance including Ershad's Jatiya Party,while the BNP formed a four-party alliance which included the Islamist party Jamaat-e-Islami. The election was originally scheduled for January 2007,but it was postponed by a military-controlled caretaker government for an extended period of time.

On 1 August 2013,the Bangladesh Supreme Court cancelled the registration of the Jamaat-e-Islami,ruling that the party is unfit to contest national elections.
The Khelafat Majlish,also spelt Khelafat Majlis,is a far-right Islamist political party in Bangladesh. The party was founded in Dhaka,the capital of Bangladesh,in 1989 by Deobandi scholar Azizul Haque along with Ahmad Abdul Qadir and former leaders of the National Awami Party and Tamaddun Majlish. Since its founding,it has only ever gained one seat in the country's National Parliament. The party split into two in 2005,with Azizul Haque's faction taking the name Bangladesh Khelafat Majlish.
The International Crimes Tribunal (Bangladesh) (ICT of Bangladesh) is a domestic war crimes tribunal in Bangladesh set up in 2009 to investigate and prosecute suspects for the genocide committed in 1971 by the Pakistan Army and their local collaborators,Razakars,Al-Badr and Al-Shams during the Bangladesh Liberation War. During the 2008 general election,the Awami League (AL) pledged to try war criminals. The government set up the tribunal after the Awami League won the general election in December 2008 with a more than two-thirds majority in parliament.
