Background

Le Roux was born in Sasolburg, Free State in 1996 and later relocated to Oudtshoorn in the Western Cape, where she was raised. [1] Le Roux currently resides in Rosebank in Cape Town. [2]

Le Roux was diagnosed with profound hearing loss, [3] at the age of one and as result she was fitted with a cochlear implant to aid her hearing. [4]

Her educational background includes attending Oudtshoorn High School and earning a nutrition certificate from the Sport Science Institute of South Africa and an exercise specialist diploma from Eta College. [3] She is also a part-time BCom Marketing student. [5]

Le Roux works as a marketing manager and models part-time. She is studying marketing at the University of South Africa.[ citation needed ]

Miss South Africa 2024

Le Roux won Miss South Africa 2024, held at the SunBet Arena, Menlyn. Pretoria, on 10 August 2024, competing against nine other contestants. [6] She had been previously announced as one of the 30 semifinalists in May 2024. [7] [8] [5]

She placed Top 5 to Miss World as Miss World Africa on 12 December 1992. Kleinhans also appears on the Afrikaans language South African reality show Die Real Housewives van die Wynlande.

Miss South Africa is a national beauty pageant in South Africa that selects South African representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants Miss Universe, and also selects another representative to participate in Sub-major international pageant Miss Supranational. The Miss South Africa organisation resorted to a contemporary format in selecting representatives which was inaugurated in 2018. Following their newer method, both a Miss World South Africa and a Miss Universe South Africa were selected as representatives. From 2021 onwards, the winner of Miss South Africa will be competing in Miss Universe, and Miss Supranational. The current Miss South Africa 2024 is Mia le Roux. The Voice South Africa is a South African reality singing competition and local version of The Voice first broadcast as The Voice of Holland. Its first season started on 31 January 2016 and proved to be a hit on M-Net. The second season started on 5 February 2017 on the same channel. The third season premiered on 3 February 2019.

Miss South Africa 2019 was the 61st edition of the Miss South Africa pageant. It was held on 9 August 2019 at Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria, Gauteng. Tamaryn Green of Western Cape crowned her successor Zozibini Tunzi of Eastern Cape at the end of the event. Tunzi represented South Africa in Miss Universe 2019 and was crowned Miss Universe while 1st Runner-Up Sasha-Lee Olivier represented the country in Miss World 2019. Olivier assumed the title of Miss South Africa 2019 due to Tunzi winning the Miss Universe title.

The winner was Mia le Roux of Western Cape, who was crowned by her predecessor Natasha Joubert of Gauteng. Le Roux will represent South Africa at Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico on 16 November 2024.

Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina is a South African model who was competing in Miss South Africa 2024, reaching the top 11 finalists, and was called to be removed from the contest. It was claimed that she was unable to participate due to her mixed heritage.
