Michael Everett Arrom is an American musician, songwriter, producer and recording artist. [1] He is best known for touring and working with several artists including Steve Vai, David Rosenthal, Keith Urban, Noah Cyrus, Sofia Carson, Madison Beer, Mike Stoller and Corky Hale.
The son of Carlos and Paula Whitehorn Arrom, he was born at Morristown hospital, where his parents then lived. However, since soon after age one, he grew up in Warren Township, New Jersey, that he always considered his hometown.
He showed very precocious talent for music, starting playing piano at age 7. He attended Mt. Horeb School and the Middle School before joining The Pingry School in Basking Ridge, NJ. [2] Meanwhile, he studied classical music under concert pianist and Carnegie Hall performer Michelle Chen Kuo [3] [4] and participated at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Traverse City, Michigan. [5]
He made his national live television debut performing with Keith Urban at the American Country Awards on December 10, 2012. He was selected to appear with Keith Urban by The Grammy Foundation as a member of an alumni band created from past participants in the Grammy Camp program. [6]
After graduating at Pingry in 2013, he was planning to major in Economics while continue pursuing music outside of classes, and he qualified for admission at Northwestern University. [7]
The same year, however, he was introduced to Steve Vai by his mentor and Billy Joel band member, David Rosenthal, that played piano on Vai's The Story of Light album recording. Over an audition via Skype, for which Vai asked him to execute the unplayable song Angel Food, he was selected as keyboard player for The Story of light worldwide tour, that included concerts in Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. The experience prompted him to renounce to Economics studies, and pursue music as primary career. He moved to Los Angeles, where he graduated summa cum laude from the University of Southern California's cutting-edge Popular Music Program [9] where he studied under Patrice Rushen. [10] [11] In 2015, he also appeared as a student musician in the episodes What the world needs now and Transitioning of the FOX Television series Glee during the final season of the show. [12]
The following year, Arrom played a tribute concert to Jerry Leiber alongside Mike Stoller an event featuring the music of the two Songwriting Hall of Fame inductees. [13] He also served as Music Director for Stoller's wife and jazz legend Corky Hale. [14]
In 2018, he joined USC Thornton School of Music faculty as adjunct instructor of piano performance, [15] and in the same year he appeared again on the side of Steve Vai in the framework of the Big Mama Jama Jamathon, a charity event aimed to help Extraordinary Families, a nonprofit organization of Los Angeles. In addition to Keith Urban and Steve Vai, he worked across the years with artists like Noah Cyrus, Sofia Carson and Madison Beer. [17] In particular, since 2018 he developed a long-term artistic fellowship with Sofia Carson, participating into TV shows like Good Morning America [18] and Sesame Street, The Not Too Late Show with Elmo [19] in 2020. They also joined forces for high-profile events like the UNICEF Galas in Porto Cervo (2018) and Capri (2022); and "The National Easter Egg Roll" at The White House, in April 2022 [20]
Steven Siro Vai is an American guitarist, songwriter, and producer. A three-time Grammy Award winner and fifteen-time nominee, Vai started his music career in 1978 at the age of eighteen as a transcriptionist for Frank Zappa, and played in Zappa's band from 1980 to 1983. He embarked on a solo career in 1983 and has released eight solo albums to date. He has recorded and toured with Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth, and Whitesnake, as well as recording with artists such as Public Image Ltd, Mary J. Blige, Spinal Tap, Alice Cooper, Motörhead, and Polyphia. Additionally, Vai has toured with live-only acts G3, Zappa Plays Zappa, and the Experience Hendrix Tour, as well as headlining international tours.
Leiber and Stoller were an American Grammy award-winning songwriting and record production duo, consisting of lyricist Jerome Leiber and composer Michael Stoller. They wrote numerous standards for Broadway.
Willie Mae Thornton, better known as Big Mama Thornton because of her height, and weight, was an American singer and songwriter of the blues and R&B. She was the first to record Leiber and Stoller's "Hound Dog", in 1952, which was written for her and became her biggest hit, staying seven weeks at number one on the Billboard R&B chart in 1953. According to Maureen Mahon, a music professor at New York University, "the song is seen as an important beginning of rock-and-roll, especially in its use of the guitar as the key instrument".
"Hound Dog" is a twelve-bar blues song written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. Recorded originally by Big Mama Thornton on August 13, 1952, in Los Angeles and released by Peacock Records in late February 1953, "Hound Dog" was Thornton's only hit record, selling over 500,000 copies, spending 14 weeks in the R&B charts, including seven weeks at number one. Thornton's recording of "Hound Dog" is listed as one of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's "500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll", ranked at 318 in the 2021 iteration of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in February 2013.
The Pingry School is a coeducational, independent, college preparatory country day school in New Jersey, with a Lower School (K–5) campus in the Short Hills neighborhood of Millburn, a Middle (6–8) and Upper School (9–12) campus in the Basking Ridge section of Bernards Township, and a campus for experiential learning in Pottersville. The school was founded in 1861 by John F. Pingry. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Eric Carmen is the debut album by American rock and roll musician and singer-songwriter Eric Carmen. It is also his first of two self-titled albums, the other released in 1984. Elvis is the second studio album by American rock and roll singer Elvis Presley, released by RCA Victor on October 19, 1956 in mono. Recording sessions took place on September 1, September 2, and September 3 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood, with one track left over from the sessions for Presley's debut album at the RCA Victor recording studios on January 30 in New York. It spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart that year, making Presley the first recording artist to have both albums go straight to number one in the same year. David Rosenthal is an American keyboardist, musical director, music producer, synthesizer programmer, orchestrator, and songwriter, mostly known for working with the hard rock band Rainbow and Billy Joel. Rosenthal has been nominated for three Grammy Awards, and in addition to Rainbow and Joel, has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Enrique Iglesias, Robert Palmer, Steve Vai, Cyndi Lauper, Whitesnake, Little Steven, and Happy the Man. Additionally, Rosenthal has perfect pitch.
Covers is the eighteenth studio album and the first covers album by singer-songwriter James Taylor released in 2008. The album was recorded with his regular touring band. Some of the tunes Taylor had been performing off and on in concerts for years, while others were new to his repertoire. It received general positive reviews and two Grammy Award nominations.
"T-R-O-U-B-L-E" is a song written by Jerry Chesnut and recorded by Elvis Presley in March 1975. It was released as a single, as the A-side, with the B-side "Mr. Songman", through RCA Victor that was taken from his album Today. It is not to be confused with the Leiber and Stoller song "Trouble", that Presley first recorded in July 1958, and which was subsequently recorded by numerous other artists.
Sofía LaurenDaccarett Char, known professionally as Sofia Carson, is an American actress and singer. Her first appearance on television was as a guest star on the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally. In 2015, she received recognition as Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen, in the Disney musical fantasy film Descendants, and later reprised her role in its sequels. "Love Is the Name" is the debut single by American recording artist Sofia Carson. It was written and produced by Steve Mac, with additional songwriting by Ina Wroldsen. The song was released on April 7, 2016, by Hollywood and Republic Records. An official remix featuring Colombian reggaeton singer J Balvin was also released on the same day. "Love Is the Name" is an interpolation of Austrian band Opus' 1984 single "Live Is Life", which was the main inspiration behind its production. Commercially, it reached the top forty on the Latin Pop Songs and Tropical Songs component charts of Billboard in the United States, and peaked inside the top thirty in Poland. The song's accompanying music video, directed by Hannah Lux Davis, portrays Carson dancing in the sunset on a beach and in a luxurious mansion. To further promote the song, Carson performed it on the 2016 Radio Disney Music Awards. It is a part of Carson's self-titled first studio album (2022)'s Japanese release.
