Michael Bugan (born 28 June 1987) is a Slovakian equestrian athlete. [1] He competed at the European Dressage Championships in 2019 in Rotterdam, as first Slovakian dressage rider. In 2017 he competed with two horses at the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses in Ermelo. [2]

Bugan was qualified to participate at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, but the horse was not registered according the official Olympic rules, whereby the owner of the horse should be the same as the riders nationality. [3]

Laura Tomlinson British dressage rider

Laura Tomlinson MBE is a German-born British dressage rider competing at Olympic level. As of 30 June 2012 the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) ranked her 3rd in the world riding Mistral Højris and 36th on Andretti H. In that year, Tomlinson, riding Mistral Højris under her maiden name of Laura Bechtolsheimer, won two medals in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London; gold for Great Britain in the team dressage with Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin, the first ever Olympic team gold in the discipline for her country, and bronze in the individual dressage behind gold medalist and compatriot Dujardin.

Rembrandt was a dark bay Westphalian gelding ridden for Germany by Nicole Uphoff in dressage competitions. Together, the pair won four Olympic gold medals, three gold and one silver World Equestrian Games medals, and numerous other international championships. Although known as a sensitive horse prone to spookiness, Rembrandt's elegance and expression in the ring allowed him to become one of the top horses in the sport of dressage.

The 2011 European Eventing Championship was held from August 25 to August 28, 2011 in Luhmühlen, borough of the Samtgemeinde Salzhausen in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Carl Hester British dressage rider

Carl Hester, is a British dressage rider competing at Olympic level. As of 8 August 2012 the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) rank him 12th in the world riding Uthopia.

Michael Jung (equestrian) German equestrian

Michael Jung is a German equestrian who competes in eventing and show jumping. A three-time Olympic gold medallist, he won individual and team gold at the 2012 London Olympics, followed by individual gold and team silver at the 2016 Rio Olympics. He was inducted into the Eventing Rider Association Hall of Fame in 2013, and in 2016 he became only the second rider in history to win the Grand Slam of Eventing.

Flim Flam was a Hanoverian dressage horse who, along with rider Sue Blinks, competed for the United States at the 2000 Olympics. The pair was eighth in the individual competition and was part of the bronze medal-winning US team. Flim Flam was sired by the stallion Wilhelm Tell I, out of the mare, Cilia.

Julie Brougham is a New Zealand equestrian, competing in dressage. She became New Zealand's oldest Olympic competitor when she competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro at age 62.

Cathrine Dufour is a Danish Olympic dressage horse rider. Representing Denmark, she competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro where she finished 13th in the individual and 6th in the team competition. At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, she finished 4th in both the individual and team dressage events.

Kelly Layne is an Australian Dressage rider and trainer. She planned on qualifying to represent her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. However, Layne was unable to compete in the final qualifying event due to an injury suffered by her horse, Udon P, forcing her to withdraw. While born in Australia, Layne is currently based in Wellington, Florida. Layne also helped found her own riding team, "Dream Team Dressage".

Equestrian at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Individual eventing Olympic cycling event

The individual eventing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics is scheduled to take place from 30 July to 2 August 2021 at the Baji Koen Equestrian Park and Central Breakwater. Like all other equestrian events, the eventing competition is open-gender, with both male and female athletes competing in the same division. 65 riders from 29 nations are expected to compete.

Henri Ruoste is a Finnish Olympic dressage rider. He competed at two European Championships, and competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Charlotte Fry is an Olympic medal-winning British equestrian athlete.

Brett Parbery is an Australian dressage rider and trainer. He competed at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington 2010 where he became 9th individually, which is the highest rank for an Australian dressage rider during the World Championships. In 2018 he represented Australia as well during the World Equestrian Games in Tryon. In 2010 he qualified for the World Cup Finals in s-Hertogenbosch and finished 10th.

Sjerstin de Vries-Vermeulen is a Dutch former swimmer and equestrian, who competed at four Paralympic Games. She won five swimming medals at the 1988 Summer Paralympics, and won equestrian medals at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Paralympics in the mixed team dressage event.

Larissa Pauluis is a Belgian Olympic dressage rider. She competed at two World Championships for Young Dressage Horses and competed at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, representing Belgium.
