Michael Carter (born 17 June 1949) is a British boxer. He competed in the men's bantamweight event at the 1968 Summer Olympics. [1] He fought as Mickey Carter.

He won the 1967 and 1968 Amateur Boxing Association British bantamweight title, when boxing out of the Repton ABC. [2]

Michael Conlan (boxer) Irish boxer

Michael John Conlan is an Irish professional boxer. As an amateur, he reached number one in the AIBA bantamweight world rankings, with achievements that include a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics and gold at the 2015 World Championships. He has been one of Ireland's most successful amateur fighters of all time. He turned professional in 2016 after misgivings with the amateur sport, and had his first bout in 2017.

The Bantamweight class in the boxing competition was the third-lowest weight class. Bantamweights were limited to those boxers weighing a maximum of 54 kilograms (119.1 lbs). 39 boxers qualified for this category. Like all Olympic boxing events, the competition was a straight single-elimination tournament. Both semifinal losers were awarded bronze medals, so no boxers competed again after their first loss. Bouts consisted of six rounds each. Five judges scored each bout.
