Michael Fitzgerald is an Irish hurler with the Doon GAA club and the Limerick county panel. He was an important part of Limerick's run to the 2007 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship final, adding a cutting edge to their attack. [1]
The University of Limerick (UL) is a public research university institution in Limerick, Ireland. Founded in 1972 as the National Institute for Higher Education, Limerick, it became a university in 1989 in accordance with the University of Limerick Act 1989. It was the first university established since Irish independence in 1922, followed by the establishment of Dublin City University later the same day.

The Gaelic Athletic Association/Gaelic Players Association Young Hurler of the Year is an annual award given to the player aged 21 or under at the start of the season who is adjudged to have been the best during the All-Ireland Championship. The award has been presented since the 1996 All-Ireland Championship and the winner is chosen by a vote amongst the members of the players' trade union, the Gaelic Players Association (GPA). The first winner of the award was Limerick defender Mark Foley. The current holder is Adrian Mullen, who won the award for Kilkenny GAA in 2019. The only player to ever win the award twice is Eoin Kelly, who won it in both 2001 and 2002.
Ardscoil Rís is a voluntary, all-boys, Roman Catholic secondary school in Limerick, Ireland. Located on the North Circular Road, its catchment area includes neighbourhoods on the northside of Limerick such as Caherdavin, Mayorstone and Clareview though many students commute from other areas of the city as well as surrounding rural areas.
Oliver Moran is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling with his local club Ahane and was a member of the Limerick senior inter-county team from 1997 to 2009. During his career as a hurler, he has won 3 County Championships with Ahane, 2 Fitzgibbon Cup titles with Waterford IT, a National Hurling League and Waterford Crystal Cup title with Limerick, 5 Railway Cup titles with Munster and a shinty/hurling international with Ireland. Ollie's individual accolades include a Munster All-Star award in 2004 and a GAA All-Star award in 2007. He was also captain of the Limerick Senior Hurling Team in 2005. In 2013 he appeared as a studio analyst on The Sunday Game.
Séamus Hickey is an Irish sportsperson. He played hurling with his local club Murroe-Boher from 2005 to 2019 and is now a member of the Croagh-Kilfinny club. He was a member of the Limerick senior inter-county team from 2006 until 2018.

The draw for the 1981 fixtures took place in September 1980. The championship began on 24 May 1981 and ended on 6 September 1981.
The Tipperary–Limerick fixture has been one of the biggest clashes in Munster hurling history. This fixture has provided the closest and most exciting matches, including the three game saga in 2007, which Limerick finally won in the third game in extra-time by 3 points.
Maurice O'Brien is a Limerick-born senior hurler for Dublin and Faughs. He made his debut for Dublin in 2009 against his native Limerick in the National Hurling League. During his time with Dublin he has won one Leinster Senior Hurling Championship winner's medal (2013) one National Hurling League winner's medal and has been a runner-up in two Leinster finals.
The first 1934 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship Final took place on 2 September 1934 at Croke Park, Dublin. It was the golden jubilee year of the Gaelic Athletic Association and the 47th All-Ireland final. It was contested by Limerick and Dublin. The match ended in a 2-7 to 3-4 draw. The replay took place at the same venue four weeks later on 30 September 1934. On that occasion the Leinster champions lost to their Munster opponents on a score line of 5-2 to 2-6.
