As a single skater, he won the 1972 United States Figure Skating Championships and placed 4th at the 1972 Winter Olympics. His highest placement at the World Figure Skating Championships was a single skater was 7th, in 1972. As a pair skater, he competed with JoJo Starbuck, with whom he is a three-time National Champion. Starbuck and Shelley competed in two Olympic Games, placing 13th in 1968 and 4th in 1972, and won two bronze medals at the World Figure Skating Championships. When they made the 1968 Olympic team, they were the youngest athletes the United States had ever sent to the Olympics.

They won gold medals at the 1990 Skate America, 1990 Grand Prix International de Paris, and 1991 Skate Canada International, a silver medal at the 1992 Nations Cup, and bronze medals at the 1990 and 1991 NHK Trophy. In 1992, they achieved their highest results at the European Championships and World Championships, placing fourth at both events. They also competed at the 1992 Winter Olympics and finished fifth.

Yolande Jobin was a Swiss figure skater. She was the 1951 Swiss national champion. She represented Switzerland at the 1952 Winter Olympics where she placed 18th. After the 1953 World Championships in Davos she retired from competitive skating. She then spent several Winters in Crans coaching young people at the ice rink. In the early 1960s she retired from all skating and settled in La Tour de Peilz near Vevey with her parents who had retired there from London. She spent the rest of her life there, looking after her elderly parents. She never married.
Georgi Ermolayevich Proskurin was a Soviet pair skater. He was born in Moscow. With Galina Karelina, he is the 1971 European bronze medalist. With Tatiana Tarasova, he won the 1966 Winter Universiade. In total, he is a five-time Soviet national medalist with Karelina, Tarasova, and Galina Sedova.
