Sires is a member of the Democratic Party. On December 19,2021,it was reported that Sires would not run for reelection to Congress in 2022. The Richmond City Council is the governing body for the city of Richmond,California. The council consists of the Mayor of Richmond and six other city council members,one designated Vice Mayor. The council members are all elected from the whole city;no members are elected by district or ward. The council members are elected to four-year terms,as opposed to the previous six-year terms. They are not all elected at once. The council members meet every first and third Tuesday of the month and,if necessary,hold special meetings on the remaining Tuesdays. Presently the entire city council is Democratic.

Andrea Joy Campbell is an American lawyer and politician who is serving as the attorney general of Massachusetts. She is also a former member of the Boston City Council. On the city council,she represented District 4,which includes parts of Boston's Dorchester,Mattapan,Jamaica Plain,and Roslindale neighborhoods. A member of the Democratic Party,she was first elected to the council in November 2015 and assumed office in January 2016. She served as president of the council from January 2018 until January 2020. Campbell unsuccessfully ran for mayor of Boston in 2021,placing third in the nonpartisan primary election behind Annissa Essaibi George and Michelle Wu,the latter of whom would go on to win the general election. In 2022,Campbell was elected to serve as the attorney general of Massachusetts.
Kevin C. Foy is an American politician and professor who served as Mayor of Chapel Hill,North Carolina,from 2001 to 2009. He is a member of the Democratic Party. As mayor,Foy focused on land-use ordinances and urban planning in the town. He now teaches at North Carolina Central University School of Law.
