Adrian Yin Michna is an American DJ and music producer, performing under the mononym Michna. He is currently based in Brooklyn and is signed to Ghostly International. [1]

Career

Michna started out his musical career as a trombonist, playing shows in New York at the Lion's Den and CBGB's. [2] In the mid-1990s he founded the DJ collective Secret Frequency Crew, who released their music via mail-order. [3] Michna signed with Ghostly International in early 2007 [4] and in 2008 he released his debut album, "Magic Monday", which The Fader described as "genreless and timeless". [5] In July 2009, Michna released "Eggstra EP". [6] Then, in September 2012, Ghostly released the "Moving Mountains" EP. [7] [8] On February 3, 2015, Ghostly released Michna's sophomore LP "Thousand Thursday". [9] In October of that year, the Museum of Modern Art hosted an exhibition of Michna's work along with sound artist Yuri Suzuki. [10]

Television

In 2013, "Swiss Glide" was licensed to HBO for 2 episodes of Mike Judge's Silicon Valley: season 1 episode 3: "Articles of Incorporation" [11] and season 1 episode 7: "Proof of Concept". [12]

Video games

In 2014, Michna was commissioned to write 3 original songs for Sony's Hohokum Soundtrack. They are "Emerald Plateaus", "The Best Way Out Is Through", and "Increasing Ambition". [13] [14]

Commercials

In 2014 Michna was commissioned to compose original music for Nike's release of the Lebron 12 shoe. [15] Michna's song "Triple Chrome Dipped" was used in 2014 for The Truth's TV Spot, "Response". [16]

Hohokum is a 2014 art video game developed by Honeyslug and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita, and by Annapurna Interactive for Microsoft Windows. The player controls a snakelike creature to explore 17 whimsical worlds with no set objectives. The developers, who began development in 2008, compared the concept to flying a kite and were inspired by free London museums, Portmeirion, and indigenous cultures. It was released on August 12, 2014, and features a soundtrack by Ghostly International artists. The game received "generally favorable reviews", according to video game review score aggregator Metacritic. Critics appreciated the game's presentation, including its art and music, but felt that the gameplay turned to drudgery towards its end and that the objectives were too vague.

Antoine Amari Reed is an American rapper better known by his stage name Sir Michael Rocks. He started his music career in 2005 as a member of the hip hop duo The Cool Kids, and later joined the groups All City Chess Club, the "super group" P.O.C., and The Toothpick Clique. The Cool Kids released their debut album When Fish Ride Bicycles in 2011, which features production by The Neptunes and artists such as Ghostface Killah. The album peaked at No. 76 on the Billboard 200, and No. 9 on Top Rap Albums.

<i>Beach House EP</i> 2014 EP by Ty Dolla Sign

Beach House EP is the debut extended play (EP) by American singer Ty Dolla Sign. It was released on January 21, 2014, by Atlantic Records. Ty mostly produced through the entirety of this EP, alongside the variety of the other record producers such as DJ Mustard, D'Mile and Young Chop, among others. The EP features guest appearances from Wiz Khalifa, B.o.B, French Montana, Trey Songz, Twista, Jay Rock, Travis Scott and Fredo Santana, among others. The EP was supported by three singles: "Paranoid" featuring B.o.B, "Or Nah" featuring Wiz Khalifa and DJ Mustard, and the remix to the first single entitled "Paranoid (Remix)".

Markus Alandrus Randle known professionally as Childish Major, is an American rapper and record producer based in Atlanta, Georgia. He initially rose to fame as the producer of the 2013 Rocko single, "U.O.E.N.O.", which peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. He has since shifted into a career as a solo recording artist with his debut mixtape, Woo$ah, being released in 2017 by Empire Distribution. A single off that project was produced by J. Cole and was featured on an episode of the HBO series, Insecure. In September 2019, he released his debut studio album, Dirt Road Diamond.
