Midhun Eravil is an Indian cinematographer who works predominantly in the Malayalam cinema industry also known as Mollywood. [1] [2]

Film career

The Kasaragod native made his debut with the 2021 documentary film Thariode directed by Nirmal Baby Varghese about the gold mining history of Thariyode. [3] The film found critical acclaim in the festival circuit. [4] He made his feature film debut in the 2022 film Vazhiye which is the first found footage movie in the Malayalam language. [5] [6] [7] The film marked the debut of Hollywood music director Evan Evans in Indian cinema. [8] [9]

The film was written by Harikrishnan; it is based on the legend of the Odiyan clan, who in Kerala folklore are men believed to possess shapeshifting abilities and can assume animal forms. Odiyans are said to have inhabited the Malabar region of Kerala before the widespread use of electricity. Family is a 2023 Indian Malayalam-language drama film directed, written and edited by Don Palathara and co-written by Sherin Chatherine. The film premiered at the 52nd International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR) on 28 January 2023. The film was also screened at 14th Bengaluru International Film Festival 2023. The film is produced by Sanita Chittilappilly and Anto Chittilappilly through their production company Newton Cinema.
