Midnight Faces is an American pop music group originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan and now based in Los Angeles, whose style is influenced by 1980s-era synthpop and post-punk.
Midnight Faces was founded as a duo by composer Matt Doty (a former member of Saxon Shore alongside J. Tillman) and vocalist Philip Stancil. [1] [2] [3] The duo initially lived in different cities (Doty in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Stancil in Washington, DC) [4] and created their music using Internet-enabled file sharing, but by November 2014, both members had moved to Los Angeles. [5] For their third album, 2016's Heavenly Bodies, the group expanded to a trio, adding drummer Paul Doyle to its lineup. [6]

Dave Smalley is an American musician, best known as the lead singer for the hardcore punk bands DYS and Dag Nasty, and skate punk band All as well as lead singer/guitarist with Down by Law. He is known for his influence on pop punk music and his early contributions to the emo genre. He also founded a side project called The Sharpshooters, whose music is influenced by mod revival bands such as The Jam. Smalley has also produced and appeared on Canadian punk band Penelope's second album, Face au silence du monde, recorded by Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studio in Arlington, Virginia.
Scream is an American hardcore punk band from Washington, D.C.; they originally formed in the suburb of Bailey's Crossroads, Virginia. Scream originally formed in 1981 within the vanguard of the Washington Hardcore explosion. In 2009, the band reunited, and as of January 2012 were on tour in Europe. As of 2017, the band was still touring in both America and the United Kingdom.

The band released their debut album, New Skin, on October 28, 2016. The album's first single, "Ways to Fake It", was released on September 7, 2016 through Vevo and Spotify. Valensi has described the band's sound as a mix of power pop and heavy metal, and has named The Cars, Cheap Trick and Elvis Costello as influences.

They have released six albums; two out of print lo-fi cassettes, and four LPs put out by Salinas Records.
