Mike Brizendine is the head men's soccer coach at Virginia Tech. He has held that position since the 2009 season, in which the Hokies posted a 5-12-2 record. He had previously served as the top assistant coach at Virginia Tech from 2004 to 2009. As a member of the staff, Virginia Tech reached the 2007 college cup. He was named NSCAA's Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2007 for his efforts. From 2001 to 2003, he coached at Bridgewater College, posting a 23-13 overall mark there. He was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference coach of the year for his efforts.
He was also an assistant coach at Ferrum College in 1999. He played college soccer at James Madison University from 1995 to 1998.

Albert Michael Groh II is an American football analyst and former player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Wake Forest University from 1981 to 1986 and at the University of Virginia from 2001 to 2009, compiling a career college football coaching record of 85–92. Groh was also the head coach for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL) for one season, in 2000, tallying a mark of 9–7. He last coached as the defensive coordinator for Georgia Tech in 2012.
Orlando Henry "Tubby" Smith is an American college basketball coach. He is the men's basketball coach at High Point University, his alma mater. Smith previously served in the same role at the University of Tulsa, the University of Georgia, the University of Kentucky, the University of Minnesota, Texas Tech University, and the University of Memphis. With Kentucky, he coached the Wildcats to the 1998 NCAA championship.
Franklin Mitchell Beamer is a retired American college football coach, most notably for the Virginia Tech Hokies, and former college football player. Beamer was a cornerback for Virginia Tech from 1966 to 1968. His coaching experience began in 1972, and from 1981 to 1986 Beamer served as the head football coach at Murray State University. He then went on to become the head football coach at Virginia Tech from 1987 until his final game in 2015. He was one of the longest tenured active coaches in NCAA Division I FBS and, at the time of his retirement, was the winningest active coach at that level. Upon retiring, Beamer accepted a position as special assistant to the Virginia Tech athletic director, where he focuses on athletic development and advancement. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
Michael Terrence Holland is an American college athletics administrator and former basketball player and coach. He is currently the emeritus director of athletics and special assistant to Chancellor Steve Ballard at East Carolina University. Holland served as the head men's basketball coach at Davidson College from 1969 to 1974 and at the University of Virginia from 1974 to 1990, compiling a career college basketball coaching record of 418–216. While coaching at Virginia, he was responsible for signing the nation's top-ranked high school basketball player, seven-foot-four-inch Ralph Sampson, who went on to become a three-time consensus collegiate national player-of-the-year as a Cavalier. Following his retirement from coaching, Holland was the athletic director at Davidson from 1990 to 1994, at Virginia from 1994 to 2001, and at East Carolina from 2004 to 2013.
Robert Joseph Ross is a former American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at The Citadel (1973–1977), the University of Maryland, College Park (1982–1986), the Georgia Institute of Technology (1987–1991), and the United States Military Academy (2004–2006), compiling a career college football record of 103–101–2. Ross was also the head coach of the National Football League's San Diego Chargers from 1992 to 1996 and the Detroit Lions from 1997 to 2000, tallying a career NFL mark of 77–68. He guided his 1990 Georgia Tech squad to the UPI national championship and coached the 1994 San Diego Chargers to an appearance in Super Bowl XXIX.
Randy Leonard Shannon is an American football coach and former player who is currently the linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator for the Florida State Seminoles football program. Shannon was the head coach at the University of Miami from 2007 to 2010 and has served as an assistant coach for the National Football League's Miami Dolphins and several college teams, including stints as the defensive coordinator for the Miami Hurricanes, the Florida Gators, and the UCF Knights. He won the Frank Broyles Award as the nation's top collegiate assistant coach while at Miami in 2001.

Nicholas Carl Sorensen is an American football coach and former safety who is currently the special teams coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent in 2001. He played college football at Virginia Tech.
Robert Eugene "Bud" Foster Jr. is a retired American college football coach and former player. He currently serves as a Special Assistant to Athletics Director Whit Babcock. Following the 2006 season, he received the Frank Broyles Award, which is annually given to the top assistant coach in college football. Foster's 2005 and 2006 Hokie defenses led the nation in total defense. Foster is regarded as one of the best defensive coordinators in college football. On August 1, 2019, Foster announced he was retiring at the end of the 2019 season.
Daniel Mozes is an American former football center who last was a member of the Minnesota Vikings the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for West Virginia University, earned unanimous All-American honors, and was recognized as the best college center. He signed with the NFL's Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent. He is currently an assistant coach.

Steve Roccaforte is an American college basketball coach, currently an assistant men's basketball coach at Texas A&M. He joined Joe Dooley's staff on July 23, 2018 after four seasons as the associate head coach at Virginia Tech. Roccaforte also served as assistant coach for three seasons at the University of South Florida after serving as the head basketball coach at his alma mater Lamar University from 2006 to 2011, compiling a record of 76–78.

Oliver Weiss is a German-born, U.S.-based soccer coach, who worked successfully over a 14-year span (1995–2009) at the NCAA division I level. He was the head men's soccer coach at Virginia Tech from 2002 through 2009. Under Weiss Virginia Tech played in the national semifinals of the NCAA soccer tournament in 2007 and reaching a number 3 final national ranking. The program appeared in a total of four NCAA tournaments, all under Weiss' tutelage. His winning percentage of .574 and 73-52-17 win-loss-tie remain records at the school.

Justin James Fuente is an American football coach and former player. He was the head football coach at Virginia Tech from 2016 to 2021. He was the 2016 ACC Coach of the Year. Fuente was the head football coach at the University of Memphis from 2012 to 2015. He was an assistant at Texas Christian University from 2007 to 2011 and previously at Illinois State University from 2001 to 2006. Fuente attended the University of Oklahoma before transferring to Murray State University after his redshirt sophomore season. He played quarterback for both schools. Fuente played a single season with the Oklahoma Wranglers of the Arena Football League.
Christopher Michael Beard is an American basketball coach who is the head men's basketball coach at the University of Texas at Austin. He previously coached at Texas Tech, Little Rock, Angelo State, and McMurry. Beard graduated from high school from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas. He was a manager at Texas under former Longhorns coach Tom Penders, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology. He received a Masters of Education from Abilene Christian University where he served as a graduate assistant in 1998.
Tyler Bowen is an American football coach who is the tight ends coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an assistant coach at Penn State University, University of Maryland, College Park, Fordham University and Towson University. At the conclusion of the 2021 NFL season, Bowen will become the next Offensive coordinator and Tight ends coach at Virginia Tech Hokies football. Bowen will replace Brad Cornelsen at Virginia Tech.
