Michael Petersen (born 6 May 1965) is an Australian former soccer player. He is an inductee of the Football Federation Australia - Football Hall of Fame. [1]
Petersen played for Heidelberg United, Brunswick and South Melbourne in Australia, as well as in the Netherlands with Roda JC and Ajax. [1] [2]
He played nine seasons with South Melbourne between 1989 and 1997, winning the NSL Championship in 1991. [3]
In all Petersen represented Australia 50 times including 32 A International matches. [2] [4]
Sir Norman Everard Brookes was an Australian tennis player. During his career he won three Grand Slam singles titles; Wimbledon in 1907 and 1914 and the Australasian Championships in 1911. Brookes was part of the Australasian Davis Cup team that won the title on six occasions. The Australian Open men's singles trophy, the Norman Brookes Challenge Cup, is named in his honour. After his active playing career Brookes became president of the Lawn Tennis Association of Australia.

The Australian Football Hall of Fame was established in 1996, the centenary year of the Australian Football League, to help recognise the contributions made to the sport of Australian rules football by players, umpires, media personalities, coaches and administrators.
