An all-star game is an exhibition game that showcases the best players of a sports league. The exhibition is between two teams organized solely for the event,usually representing the league's teams based on region or division,but sometimes dividing the players by an attribute such as nationality. Selection of the players may be done by a vote of the coaches and/or news media;in professional leagues,fans may vote on some or all of the roster. An all-star game usually occurs at the midpoint of the regular season. An exception is American football's NFL Pro Bowl,which occurs at the end of the season.
Justin Ernest George Morneau is a Canadian former professional baseball first baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins,Pittsburgh Pirates,Colorado Rockies,and Chicago White Sox. At 6 feet 4 inches (1.93 m) and 220 pounds (100 kg),Morneau was drafted as a catcher by the Twins in 1999. He converted to first base in the minor leagues and made his MLB debut in 2003. Morneau held that position throughout his career and in 2007 became the first Twin since Gary Gaetti in 1987–1988 to hit 30 home runs in consecutive seasons.

The Musashi-FuchūLittle League of Tokyo,Japan,defeated the Eastlake Little League of Chula Vista,California,6–4 in the championship game. For the country of Japan,this was their ninth LLWS championship overall,second consecutive,and the third in four years. This was the last World Series to feature players born in the 20th century.
Christian Dickson Walker is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played college baseball for the South Carolina Gamecocks and won the College World Series in 2010 and 2011. Walker was selected in the fourth round of the 2012 MLB draft by the Baltimore Orioles and made his MLB debut with the team in 2014. He was later claimed off waivers in 2017 by the Diamondbacks and became their regular first baseman after Paul Goldschmidt was traded following the 2018 season. Walker is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner and helped the Diamondbacks win the National League pennant in 2023.
