Mike Woodley is a former American football coach. He served as the head football coach at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa from 1991 to 1993 and Grand View University in Des Moines, Iowa from the program's inception in 2008 through the 2018 season, compiling a career college football coaching record of 107–53. Woodley left Grand View in June 2019 to become the first head football coach at Mount Marty College in Yankton, South Dakota. He retired in August 2021 before Mount Marty played its first game. [1]
At Grand View, Woodley coached his 2013 team to a NAIA Football National Championship title. He was named the NAIA Football Coach of the Year Award that same season, voted the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Coach of the Year in 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2014, and the Heart of America Conference Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2017. [2] Woodley's coaching record with the Grand View Vikings was 93–35. [3] [4] His record with the St. Ambrose Fighting Bees was 14–18. [5]
A four-year letter winner in football at the University of Northern Iowa, Woodley was a three-time all-conference first team player (1971–1973) and a second-team selection to the 1973 Little All-America college football team as a senior. The UNI Athletics Hall of Fame inducted Woodley in its Class of 2005.
As a high school football coach, Woodley coached in New Mexico, Iowa and Texas. [6]

The North Central Conference (NCC), also known as North Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, was a college athletic conference which operated in the north central United States. It participated in the NCAA's Division II.
The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Member institutions are located in Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. The conference was founded in 1969 as the Nebraska Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC), later becoming the Nebraska–Iowa Athletic Conference (1992) before being renamed the Great Plains Athletic Conference (2000).
The Heart of America Athletic Conference is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). Member institutions are located in Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska in the United States.
The Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the NAIA. Member institutions are located in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. Mel Tjeerdsma is a retired American football coach and athletic director at Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri. He served as the head coach at Austin College in Sherman, Texas from 1984 to 1993 and at Northwest Missouri State University from 1994 until his retirement after the 2010 season. In his 27 years as a head coach, Tjeerdsma compiled a career college football record of 242–82–4. He led the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats to three NCAA Division II Football Championship titles and four additional NCAA Division II titles games.

Christopher Paul Klieman is an American college football coach. He is the head football coach at Kansas State University, a position he has held since the 2019 season. Klieman served as the head football coach at North Dakota State University from 2014 to 2018. He succeeded the retiring Bill Snyder at Kansas State after leading the North Dakota State Bison to four NCAA Division I Football Championship titles in five seasons.

The 2013 Grand View Vikings football team was an American football team that represented Grand View University as a member of the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) during the 2013 NAIA football season. In their sixth season under head coach Mike Woodley, the Vikings compiled a perfect 14–0 record and won the NAIA national championship, defeating Cumberlands (Kentucky), 35–23, in the championship game.
