GMA Network is a Philippine commercial broadcast network, serving as the flagship property of publicly traded GMA Network Inc. The network is headquartered in the GMA Network Center in Quezon City and its transmitter facilities, Tower of Power, are located at Tandang Sora Avenue, Barangay Culiat also in Quezon City with regional stations and offices strategically located in over 12 major cities across the country including Dagupan, Naga, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cebu and Davao. GMA Network is commonly referred to as the Kapuso Network in reference to the outline of the company's logo; the branding was originally introduced in 1992 and was officially introduced on October 27, 2002 during an episode of its now-defunct noontime variety show SOP. GMA Network is one of the largest television and radio network in the Philippines, along with TV5 and A2Z.

The 2010 Philippine Bar exam bombing occurred on Taft Avenue near De La Salle University (DLSU), located in Malate, Manila, Philippines, on September 26, 2010, at 5:05 pm PST, a few minutes after Philippine Bar examinees began exiting DLSU. A Mk2 grenade was thrown at a group of Alpha Phi Beta members from San Beda College. They were standing near Tau Gamma Phi members, who police believed were the real target of the explosive. This resulted in injuries to 47 people, including two who required amputations.

Top One Project was a Filipino boy band based in the Philippines, originally composed of the grand winners of GMA Network's reality show To the Top — Adrian Pascual, Joshua Jacobe, Louie Pedroso, Mico Cruz, and Miko Manguba. The group signed under GMA's Artist Center and its label GMA Records after winning the competition in 2015. The group released their debut album digitally on April 28, 2016 with their carrier single, "Pag-gising".
