Rowing has been part of the Summer Olympics since its debut in the 1900 Games. Rowing was on the program at the 1896 Summer Olympics but was cancelled due to bad weather. Only men were allowed to compete until the women's events were introduced at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal which gave national federations the incentive to support women's events and catalysed growth in women's rowing. Lightweight rowing events were introduced to the games in 1996. Qualifying for the rowing events is under the jurisdiction of the World Rowing Federation. World Rowing predates the modern Olympics and was the first international sport federation to join the modern Olympic movement.
The Vesper Boat Club is an amateur rowing club located at #10 Boathouse Row in the historic Boathouse Row of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1865 as the Washington Barge Club, the club's name was changed to Vesper Boat Club in 1870.
Olympia Aldersey is an Australian rower. She is an Australian national champion, a dual Olympian and was a 2019 World Champion in the coxless four. In 2014 she set a world's fastest ever time (6:37.31) in a women's double scull over 2000m, a record which has stood since. She rowed in the Australian women's eight at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Rowing Ireland, formerly the Irish Amateur Rowing Union, is the governing body of rowing for Ireland. It is a cross-border organisation administering the sport in both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Georgia Nesbitt is an Australian former representative lightweight rower who made 10 representative appearaances for Australia between 2013 and 2022. She was an seven-time national champion and she won a silver medal at the 2017 World Rowing Championships. In 2022 prior to a serious cycling accident, she competed in Australian Road National championships and had qualified to participate in her age group at the 2023 Ironman World Championships in Helsinki.

Kate Haber is a Canadian national rower. She won bronze at the 2016 World Rowing Championships in Rotterdam while competing in the lightweight women's sculls. Haber is the reigning two-time Pan American Games Champion when she won gold in lightweight women's double sculls with gold with Liz Fenje at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, and Jaclyn Stelmaszyk at the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima. She started rowing at the University of Toronto after injuries from her track and field days in the pole vault and pentathlon events forced her to move to a new sport. Haber has her PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences and Anatomy from the University of Toronto.
Jaclyn Stelmaszyk is a world champion Polish Canadian rower. She won gold in the lightweight women's quad sculls at the 2012 World Rowing Championships as a competitor for Poland. Stelmaszyk returned to the Canadian team and is the reigning Pan American Games Champion, winning gold in the lightweight women's double sculls with Kate Haber at the 2019 Pan Am Games in Lima. In December 2019 Jaclyn was granted an exemption to the three year rule by the Olympic executive board to change nationalities from Canada to Poland. She immediately began training with the Polish Rowing Federation (PZTW) in hopes of qualifying a lightweight double boat for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic games.
Yusneylys Guzmán Lopez is a Cuban freestyle wrestler. She is a gold medalist at the Pan American Games and the Pan American Wrestling Championships. She is also a two-time medalist at the Central American and Caribbean Games. Guzmán also competed in the women's 50 kg event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.

She won the silver medal in the women's individual event at the 2021 World Archery Championships held in Yankton, United States. She competed in the women's individual and women's team events at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan.

Mell Karen Mina Ayoví is an Ecuadorian taekwondo practitioner. She won the silver medal in the women's 67 kg event at the 2022 South American Games in Asunción, Paraguay. She also won one of the bronze medals in her event at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia.
Josiane Dias de Lima is a Brazilian para-rower in sculling events. She has won various accolades in her main event, the PR2 mixed double sculls, including a bronze medal with Elton Santana at the 2008 Summer Paralympics, and a gold medal with Lucas Pagani at the 2007 World Rowing Championships. Lima has competed at every Paralympic Games that has featured rowing, and won Brazil's first Olympic rowing medal with Santana. She has also competed in the women's single sculls and indoor rowing.
Abby Dent is a national team rower from Canada. Dent became a Pan American Games champion when she won gold in the women's eight at the 2023 Pan Am Games in Santiago and also won a silver medal at the games in the coxless pair with Olivia McMurray.
