Milo is a British comedy animated preschool television series that first aired on Channel 5's Milkshake! block on 10 May 2021 in the United Kingdom. [1]
The series, produced by Fourth Wall Animation and distributed by Planeta Junior, [2] was commissioned in May 2021 by the British Film Institute's Young Audiences Content Fund. [3] [4] Though this fund was eliminated in 2023, Liverpool City Region Combined Authority’s Flexible Growth Fund provided major funding for a second season of the show, following the success of the first season. [5] This series is animated completely using Toon Boom Animation's computer information systems.
The series follows Milo, a 5-year-old black cat and his friends, Lofty, a tall giraffe and Lark, a Bird as they explore different jobs and professions. Milo lives in Milotown with his parents, who run a dry cleaning shop. In each episode, a washing machine robot named Suds lets Milo and his friends try on the clothes of the workers of the town. Through role play, they learn about the many vocational careers found around town.
The show is formatted into 11-minute episodes. The first season consists of 52 episodes and the second season consists of 26 episodes.

The show is broadcast in over 170 countries internationally. [6] It premiered in the United Kingdom on Channel 5's Milkshake! block on 10 May 2021. [5] It also airs on Nick Jr. In Spain, it airs on Clan. The show airs on ABC Kids in Australia, on Cartoonito in Latin America, on Majid TV in the United Arab Emirates and on MiniMini+ in Poland.
In July 2023, the show began airing in France on 6play and in Mexico on TV Azteca. In August 2023, it debuted in Canada on Télé-Québec. [7]
In 2024, PBS Kids acquired the rights to the series in the United States. [8] Although it was originally scheduled to air on the PBS Kids 24/7 Channel, [9] it was exclusive to the PBS Kids on-demand streaming service as of May 13, 2024, [10] in addition to Amazon Prime Video through the PBS Kids add-on subscription. On-air broadcasts began on the PBS Kids 24/7 channel on October 1, 2024. [11] [12] [13]
In 2021-22, the show began airing in Russia on JimJam, and later on Carousel. [14]
Milo is one of the UK’s top-rated programs for children between the ages of four and six, [5] reaching one million kids between the ages of four and fifteen in the UK within its first year of broadcast. [15] It won the Best Children’s Series at the 2022 British Animation Awards. [16] It also won bronze at the 2022 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards, and was nominated for Best Preschool Program at the 2022 Broadcast Awards. [5]
Pingu is an animated children's television series originally produced in Switzerland. It was co-created by Otmar Gutmann and Erika Brueggemann that centres on the titular anthropomorphic emperor penguin and his family, who live in the South Pole. The series aired on SF DRS for four series from 7 March 1990 to 9 April 2000, and was produced by the Swiss animation studio Pingu Filmstudio; with Swiss toy company Editoy AG, and later on, Pingu BV handling IP ownership of the series.

Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks, or Jakers in Europe, is an animated children's television series. Fetch! with Ruff Ruffman is an American live-action/animated television series that aired on PBS Kids Go! and is largely targeted toward children ages 6–10. It is a reality competition hosted by Ruff Ruffman, an animated anthropomorphic dog who dispenses challenges to the show's real-life contestants. The series ran from May 29, 2006, to November 4, 2010 on PBS across five seasons and 100 episodes, and featured 30 contestants. Although a sixth season was planned, with auditions taking place in January 2010, WGBH announced on June 14, 2010 that the series would end due to lack of funding. In June 2008, the series received its first Emmy for Best Original Song for its theme.

Gravity Falls is an American mystery comedy animated television series created by Alex Hirsch for Disney Channel and Disney XD. The series follows the adventures of Dipper Pines and his twin sister Mabel, who are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle Stan (Hirsch) in Gravity Falls, Oregon, a mysterious town full of paranormal incidents and supernatural creatures. The kids help Stan run the "Mystery Shack", the tourist trap that he owns, while also investigating the local mysteries.
Nickelodeon is an Indian children's pay television channel based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. It is the Indian equivalent of the original American network and is owned by Viacom18, a joint venture between Paramount Global and TV18. Despite using the "Nickelodeon" branding, it does not air any content from the original channel in recent times as part of a localisation strategy; instead the original Nickelodeon content is only broadcast on the Nickelodeon HD+ channel. Let's Go Luna! is an educational animated children's television series created by Joe Murray that aired on PBS Kids. Murray formerly worked on the Nickelodeon animated series Rocko's Modern Life and Cartoon Network animated series Camp Lazlo. It is co-produced by 9 Story Media Group. Judy Greer provides the voice of the titular Luna. In the first season, there are 38 half-hour episodes and a one-hour special. The second season has 26 episodes and premiered on May 10, 2021. Each episode consists of two 11-minute story segments, with a short segment of one of the characters telling a folktale, song or poem from that country in between.
