The Miramichi Timberwolves are a Junior "A" hockey team based in Miramichi, New Brunswick. They play in the Maritime Junior Hockey League. The team was founded in 2000 and plays their home games at the Miramichi Civic Centre.
The Miramichi Timberwolves joined the Maritime Junior A Hockey League in 2000 and did not enjoy regular season success for three seasons. After the third season they acquired former NHLer Bill Riley as head coach, and the team reached third overall in the league and headed to their first post season.
The first playoff series ever for the Timberwolves was against the Charlottetown Abbies. The "T-wolves", (as they are known to fans) swept the Abbies four games to none. The Timberwolves progressed to the division finals but lost to the Campbellton Tigers in six games.
The Timberwolves have never won a Maritime Junior A Championship. They have reached the league final once and the division finals three times. Playoff disappointments have pushed the Timberwolves to do better in the regular season where in 2007–08 they put together their best to date. Finishing with 42 wins and 87 points good for first in the Meek division, the third time they had won the division in five years.
After another playoff disappointment behind them the T-Wolves started the 2008–2009 season looking to take the next step and win the Kent Cup. They finished second in the Meek Division, five points behind first place Summerside and just one point ahead of third place Woodstock. In the first round the T-Wolves and the Slammers showed why they were so close in the standings. The series went seven games, the first seven-game series that the Timberwolves had ever been a part of in their nine years in the league. The T-Wolves came out on top winning the deciding game 3-2 thanks to Andrew White, who scored all three of the Timberwolves goals. Miramichi moved on to face Summerside in the division final. Summerside was riding high having just swept the Dieppe Commandos, and they swept the series on their way to winning the Kent Cup, making it the second straight season that the Timberwolves were beaten in the Meek Division final (the previous year they were defeated by the Woodstock Slammers in six games.)
The Wolves reached the Kent Cup final during the 2016–17 season, their best in franchise history. They lost to the Truro Bearcats in seven games.
Early in the 2022-23 season, after a few years of futility, the Wolves parted ways with head coach and general manager Rob MacDonald, who had been with the team since the 2011-12 campaign. The team ended up having its best regular season since 2016-17 after naming Kory Baker as his replacement, but fell to the Edmundston Blizzard in the Eastlink North Division semifinals.

Gordon Rick Dwyer is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger who played five seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers and Montreal Canadiens. He is the head coach and General Manager of the Acadie–Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is a Junior A ice hockey league under Hockey Canada, a part of the Canadian Junior Hockey League. It consists of six teams from New Brunswick, which make up the EastLink North Division, five teams from Nova Scotia, and one team from Prince Edward Island which make up the Eastlink South Division. The winner of the MHL playoffs competes for the Centennial Cup against the winners of the 8 other tier 2 junior A leagues across Canada. Prior to the pandemic the MHL champions would participate in the Fred Page Cup. This tournament involved the Bogart Cup champions from the CCHL(Ontario), the Kent Cup champions from the MHL(Maritimes) and the winner of the La Coupe Napa of the QJHL(Québec) as well as a pre determined host. The winner would move on to compete for the Canadian National Junior A Championship. However with the departure of the BCHL whom ended affiliation with the CJHL in March 2021 as well as Hockey Canada in June 2023 becoming an independent league. No Centennial Cup qualifying tournaments such as the Kent Cup have been played since 2022 and instead all the league champions have directly advanced to the Centennial Cup.
The Fred Page Cup was a championship ice hockey trophy, won by a tournament conducted by the Canadian Junior Hockey League. The award was given to the winner of a round-robin and playoff between the Bogart Cup champions of the Central Canada Hockey League, the Kent Cup champions of the Maritime Junior Hockey League, La Coupe NAPA Champions of the Quebec Junior Hockey League, and a pre-determined host team. The winner of the Fred Page Cup moves on to the Centennial Cup, the national Junior A championship. The trophy was donated by the then-called Quebec Provincial Junior Hockey League in 1994–95.
The Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League is a Junior "C" ice hockey league in Prince Edward Island, Canada, sanctioned by Hockey Canada. The league was known as the Prince Edward Island Minor Junior Hockey League until 2009.
The West Kent Steamers are a Junior A Ice Hockey team from Bouctouche, New Brunswick. They play their home games at the 1,100 seat J.K. Irving Regional Centre in Bouctouche, New Brunswick. The team is a member of the Maritime Hockey League and play in the Eastlink North Division.
The Charlottetown Abbies were a Tier II Junior "A" team based in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. They played in the IJHL and the Maritime Junior A Hockey League. Their home rink from 2003 to 2008 was the MacLauchlan Arena on the campus of UPEI. Before then, it was the Charlottetown Civic Centre.
The Summerside Western Capitals are a Junior "A" hockey team based in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. They are members of the Maritime Junior Hockey League, and they play their home games at the Consolidated Credit Union Place. Until 2007 the team played at the former Cahill Stadium.
The Woodstock Slammers were a junior "A" hockey team based in Woodstock, New Brunswick. They played as part of the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL). The team played their home games at the Carleton Civic Centre, formally known to fans as "Slammerland" or "Slammertown, Canada". The Slammers were a relatively successful team in their 18 year history, winning a NB Junior B League title and Don Johnson Cup (2000), three Kent Cups, one Fred Page Cup (2012) and a silver medal at the RBC Cup (2012). In 2018, the franchise relocated to Grand Falls, New Brunswick, changing their name to the Grand Falls Rapids.
