Miss Tourism Africa established in 2015 is an annual international beauty pageant open to all young African women and from other African communities around the world, including France, Spain, Japan, China, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, USA. It is Organized by Qhue Concepts and endorsed by the Lagos State Government. [1] [2]
Miss Tourism Africa currently has licensees in 21 countries; producing national winners/representatives from their respective countries for the annual international finals. [3] [4]
The current titleholder is Ndinelago Kalikoka Emosho, who represented Namibia in the competition. [5] [6]
Every year, Miss Tourism Africa carries out worldwide search for young women in Afro communities around the globe with the beauty, dynamic personalities and intelligence that set them apart from the rest. Finalists are being selected across all countries to compete at the grand finale. [1]
To gain participation in Miss Tourism Africa, a country needs a local company or person to buy the local rights of the competition through a franchise fee. The fee includes the rights of image, brand and everything related to the pageant. The number of participants fluctuates annually because of the franchising of the pageant paired with conflicting schedules to the regular calendar. [7]
Miss Tourism Africa was founded by Seth Santiago Roberts, the pageant was first registered in 2015 but formally launched its debut edition in 2022. The debut edition held in October 2022 in Lagos, Nigeria with seven participating countries, Noni Kariuki representing Kenya emerged winner of the maiden edition. Binibining Pilipinas is the oldest active national beauty pageant in the Philippines. Founded in 1964, it currently selects Filipina representatives to compete in one of the Big Four international beauty pageants—Miss International, as well as representatives to other international pageants, such as The Miss Globe.
The Señorita Panamá is a national beauty pageant in Panama. As of the 2024 edition, Señorita Panamá winners represent Panamá in Miss Universe. The Miss Panama brand started in 1952, when the Panamanian Institute of Tourism received an invitation from Miss Universe to send a representative. In 1975, the Señorita Panamá name was used for the first time, reverting to Miss Panama in 1976. In 1982, Señorita Panamá was created by RPC Channel 4 as an alternative to send its winners to the Miss World contest in London. These pageants, along with smaller pageants such as Miss International Panamá and Miss World Panamá celebrated to select delegates for international representations.
Miss Universe Kenya is a national pageant in Kenya that was first held in 2002 and an annual national contest to choose ambassador for the Miss Universe pageant. Miss Universe Kenya is not related to the previous Miss World Kenya or Miss Kenya contests.
The Miss Honduras or Miss Honduras Universe is a national beauty pageant in Honduras. The pageant was founded in 1930, where the winners were sent to Miss Universe.
Miss Cameroon or Miss Cameroun is a national Beauty pageant in Cameroon where the winners traditionally go to Miss Universe and Miss World. The current Miss Cameroon 2024 is Noura Njikam of Centre. She will represent Cameroon at Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico earlier this year.
Reinas de Costa Rica is a national beauty pageant in Costa Rica that selects representatives to the Miss World and Miss International pageant. After the Miss Costa Rica pageant stopped sending contestants to the Miss World and Miss International pageants in 2006, the franchise was acquired by the Reinas de Costa Rica organization presided by Alan Aleman. However, after two years of absence in the Miss World pageant in 2017-2018, the organization eventually lost the franchise to the newly established contest, Concurso Nacional de Belleza de Costa Rica in 2019. The organization also lost the Miss Earth franchise to Jose Vásconez in 2016.
The Miss Kenya is a national beauty pageant in Kenya which promotes Environmental Conservation, Culture, Tourism and Goodwill. This pageant is unrelated to Miss Universe Kenya or Miss World Kenya.

Miss World 2016, the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 December 2016, at the MGM National Harbor, Oxon Hill, Maryland, United States. 117 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. It was the second time where Puerto Rico won Miss World, after Wilnelia Merced in 1975.
Miss Supranational is an annual international beauty pageant, started in 2009, and with most contests held in Poland. A parallel male contest, Mister Supranational, was launched in 2016, also in Poland.
Miss Grand International also known as Miss Grand is an international beauty pageant franchise that was based in Thailand. It consists of the annual national pageant Miss Grand Thailand, as well as the international competition Miss Grand International, to which participating rights are licensed to organizers in other countries. The franchise has been owned and run by a Thai stock exchange-listed company with the same name, also known as MGI PCL, since its inception in 2013, with Nawat Itsaragrisil as the president.
Chanique Rabe Honeyborne is a Namibian model, fashion designer, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Supranational 2021. Rabe was previously crowned Miss Teen Continents 2015 and Miss Supranational Namibia 2020, making her the first representative from Namibia to win the Miss Supranational title, the first African country to do so. Miss Grand Nigeria was a Nigerian female beauty pageant founded in 2015 by a Lagos based event organizer chaired by Loveth Ajufoh, QLA Nigeria. The winners of the contest, which was held individually twice, represented Nigeria at its parent competition, Miss Grand International. Previously, the contest's license belonged to AMC Productions, the organizer of the Miss Earth Nigeria pageant, before being transferred to QLA Nigeria Limited, 001 Entertainment – the organizer of The Nigerian Queen, and the Qhue Group. in 2015, 2020, and 2023, respectively.
Miss Grand Kenya is a national beauty pageant title awarded to Kenyan representatives competing at the Miss Grand International pageant. Miss Tourism Nigeria is a Nigerian beauty pageant aimed at supporting today's women through It's passion for pageantry with a purpose. The winner of Miss Tourism Nigeria represents Nigeria at Miss Tourism World while the runner up represents Nigeria at the Miss Tourism Africa.
Miss Ideal Nigeria established in 2014 is a Nigerian beauty pageant organized by the House of Twitch and is aimed at empowering young women across Nigeria. The winners and runners up of Miss Ideal Nigeria automatically represents Nigeria at Miss Global Beauty queen pageant, Miss Tourism World, and Top Model of the World.
House of Twitch is a Nigerian multinational talent management and event production company founded in 2010 by Ayotunde Fabamwo. They are the organizers of Miss Ideal Nigeria, Mr Ideal Nigeria, Model Look Africa, Mr. Teen Nigeria, Miss Ideal Teen and International pageant Mister Africa International.
