Miss Malaysia Universe 1989, the 23rd edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 19 March 1989 at the Hyatt Saujana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Carmen Swee of Penang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Linda Lum of Johor at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 1989 pageant in Cancun, Mexico. [1]

Deborah Priya Henry, also known as Priya Emmanuel, is a Malaysian Indian TV Host of Indian and Irish descent and a former model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Malaysia 2011 and ended up did not make it to the semifinalists round, this is the 41st consecutive year Malaysia did not placed in Miss Universe pageant. She is also winning Miss Malaysia World 2007. She was also placed in the Top 15 at Miss World 2007.

Miss Universe Malaysia is an annual national beauty pageant that selects Malaysia's representative to the annual Miss Universe contest. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify, a runner-up is sent.

Proclamation of Malaysia

The Proclamation of Malaysia was a statement, written in English and Malay, that declared the merger of the Federation of Malaya with the British crown colonies of North Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore into the new Federation of Malaysia, following the enactment of the Malaysia Agreement and the Malaysia Act 1963 that July. The merger came into effect on 16 September 1963, and the proclamation was delivered on that date by Prime Minister Tunku Abdul Rahman in the Stadium Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur.

Miss Universe Malaysia 2018, the 52nd edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 11 January 2018 at the Majestic Araneta Auditorium, Kuala Lumpur. Jane Teoh of Penang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Samantha James of Kuala Lumpur at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand.

Leong Li Ping of Penang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Faridah Norizan of Perak at the end of the event. Miss World Malaysia

Miss World Malaysia is the national beauty pageant held in Malaysia. The winner represents the country at Miss World while the other titleholders will compete at Miss Supranational and Miss Grand International pageants. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify, a runner-up is sent.

Miss Malaysia 1965, the 2nd edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 12 June 1965 at the Merdeka Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. Patricia Augustus of Penang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Angela Filmer of Selangor at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 1965 pageant in Miami, Florida.

Miss Malaysia Universe 2004, the 38th edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 16 April 2004 at Kuala Lumpur. Andrea Fonseka of Penang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Elaine Daly of Kuala Lumpur at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2004 pageant in Quito, Ecuador.

Miss Malaysia Universe 2003, the 37th edition of the Miss Universe Malaysia, was held on 11 April 2003 at the Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Elaine Daly of Kuala Lumpur was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Karen Ang of Sarawak at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at the Miss Universe 2003 pageant in Panama City, Panama. Daly was also once competed in Miss Malaysia World 1999 where she ended up as runner-up.

Miss Malaysia 1963, the 1st edition of the Miss World Malaysia pageant was held on April 23, 1963, at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur. Catherine Loh, representing Brunei was being elected as Miss Malaysia 1963. She was crowned by French actress Capucine at the end of the event. 30 candidates from all across the federation competed for the crown and title. She had been “Miss Brunei” for three consecutive years.

Miss Malaysia World 1965, the 3rd edition of the Miss World Malaysia pageant was held on October 9, 1965, at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur. Miss Malaysia World 1964, Leonie Foo crowned her successor, Clara de Run from Selangor at the end of the event. She then represented Malaysia at Miss World 1965 in London, United Kingdom.
