Patricia Augustus of Penang was crowned by the outgoing titleholder, Angela Filmer of Selangor at the end of the event. Miss Malaya 1954, was held on 28 June 1954 at the Capitol Theatre, Singapore. 21 candidates from across Malaya and Singapore and 3 candidates from Sarawak participated in this year's competition. Most of the candidates were nominated by various organisations such as Qantas Boac, Fortune Advertising Ltd., Robinson and Co. Ltd., Malayan Airways, Shewan Tomes and more but individual entries were also welcomed to compete in the pageant. The prizes of the pageant were a free trip to America, a trip to Hong Kong, and a trip either to Penang or Singapore.
Miss Asia 1968 was the second edition of Miss Asia pageant which was held on December 8, 1968 at the Araneta Coliseum, Quezon City, Philippines. Macy Shih of Taiwan was crowned by the Miss Asia 1965 winner, Angela Filmer of Malaysia at the end of the contest. The pageant aims to promote tourism, peace, goodwill, credit and trading to the participating countries. Shih also received P10,000 cash prize, a complete wardrobe, Asian cities tour, gifts ranging from camera to toothpaste. Her court each received P1,000 and prizes in kind.
Miss Malaysia 1963, the first edition of the Miss World Malaysia pageant was held on 23 April 1963, at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur. 30 candidates from all across Federation, Singapore and Borneo were expected to compete but only 11 candidates were chosen to compete in the grand finale while the remainder will be taking part in a fashion tableau in conjunction of the contest.
