Miss World Malaysia 2021, the 53rd edition of the Miss World Malaysia pageant was held virtually on October 16, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Contents

[1] The pageant was aired virtually on a new interactive online TV platform HyperLive. Preliminary event was held on October 2, 2021. [2] The pageant was a collaboration with Sabah Tourism Board and Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (SATTA) to promote Sabah as a tourist destination in a unique way and produce highly engaging tourism-related live variety shows hosted by Malaysian beauty queens. [3]

39 contestants from all across Malaysia competed for the title. Miss World Malaysia 2019, Alexis Sue-Ann crowned her successor, Lavanya Sivaji at the end of the event. [4] [5] The official crown ceremony was held on November 1, 2021, at Ceres Jewels in Kuala Lumpur. [6] She represented Malaysia at Miss World 2021 which was held in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Miss Grand Malaysia 2022 was the seventh edition of the Miss Grand Malaysia pageant, held at the Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on August 27, 2022. Seven candidates, who qualified for the national stage through an audition performed earlier in June, competed for the title. Of whom a 27-year-old Malaysian-Chinese model and content creator from Selangor, Charissa Chong, was named the winner, while Vivienna Alfred from Sarawak and Angela Quah from Johor Bahru were announced the first and second runners-up, respectively. Charissa later represented the country at the international parent edition, Miss Grand International 2022, held in Indonesia on October 25, but she was unplaced.
