Missing You is the second studio album by American country music trio The Marcy Brothers and their major label debut album. It was released on October 23, 1989, via Warner Bros. Records. The album includes the hit single "Cotton Pickin' Time". [1] It is also the only charting album of the Marcys', peaking at number 75 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart in early 1990. [2]
"People Still Fall in Love" was previously recorded by Thom Schuyler when he was in the group S-K-B (Schuyler, Knobloch & Bickhardt) for their 1987 album No Easy Horses.
"Cotton Pickin' Time" was previously recorded by singer-songwriter Wood Newton for his 1979 self-titled album. Later it was released as a single for Joe Barnhill in 1989, around the same time as the Marcys' version, and was titled as "Becky Morgan (Cotton Pickin' Time)". It was then recorded by Blake Shelton for his 2004 album Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill .
"The Things I Didn't Say" and "I Don't Want to Be Alone Tonight" were both previously recorded by the group Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show.
In a review of the album for AllMusic, Jason Ankeny called the Marcy Brothers a "close harmony trio." [3]
