The Mitchell Park Football Club, nicknamed the Lions, is an Australian rules football club that was founded in 1968 by Edward McAvaney, currently playing in the South Australian Amateur Football League, that initially played in the Glenelg-South Adelaide Football Association. [2]

Mitchell Park remained in the Glenelg-South Adelaide Football Association, later known as the Southern Metropolitan Football League, until the end of the 1985 season.

Mitchell Park joined the South Australian Football Association in 1986 and remained in that competition they transferred to the Southern Football League Division 1 competition in 1994. Mitchell Park lasted four seasons in the Division 1 competition before they were relegated to the Division 2 competition in 1998. [3]

In 2001, Mitchell Park left the Southern Football League and joined the South Australian Amateur Football League Division 6 competition and have drifted between Divisions 5, 6 and 7 in the years since. [2] [4]

Mitchell Park also fields junior teams in the Metro South Junior Football League. [5]

The Aldinga Football Club is an Australian rules football club that was a foundation member of the Southern Football Association in 1886. From 1927 to 1932, Aldinga won a record 6 premierships in a row in the Southern Football Association. In 1901 Aldinga was involved in a brief merger with the Sellick's Hill F.C. to form the Hills United Football Club.

Brighton Districts and Old Scholars Football Club

The Brighton Districts and Old Scholars Football Club Inc., nicknamed the Bombers, is an Australian rules football club based in the southern suburbs of Adelaide which was formed in 1991 as a merger between the former Brighton Football Club and Brighton High Old Scholars Football Club. Also known as the Brighton Bombers, BDOS competed in the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL). In 1994, BDOS joined the Southern Football League in the junior grades, and were followed by the senior teams from the SAAFL in 1997. In 2017, BDOS shifted to the Adelaide Footy League.

Edwardstown Football Club

The Edwardstown Football Club is an Australian rules football club first formed in 1919. In 1938, Edwardstown merged with the Black Forest Football Club from the Adelaide and Suburban Football Association but retained the name Edwardstown. For much of the first 60 years of its existence, the Edwardstown Football Club competed in the Glenelg-South Adelaide District Football League, except for two seasons spent in the Adelaide and Suburban Football Association (1934–35).

Fitzroy Football Club (South Australia)

The Fitzroy Community Club Inc. is an Australian rules football club based in the Western suburbs of Adelaide which was formed in 1987 as a merger between the former Renown Park Football Club, St Dominic's Football Club and St Peter's Y.C.W. Football Club. The club has participated in the South Australian Amateur Football League since being formed.

Golden Grove Football Club

The Golden Grove Football Club, more commonly known as the Kookaburras, is an Australian Rules Football Club based in the north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide that was formed in 1995. The club is based at Harper's Field, located on One Tree Hill Road in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
