Mofidul Hoque (born 13 February 1948) [1] is a Bangladeshi researcher, publisher and essayist. [2] He is one of the founder trustees of the Bangladesh Liberation War Museum. [3] He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2016 and Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2013 by the government of Bangladesh. [4]

Early life

Hoque was born on 13 February 1948 in Noakhali of the then East Bengal (now Bangladesh). [1] He obtained his masters in sociology from the University of Dhaka. [5]

Hoque is married to Sheema Moslem. [7] Haque has a brother Monzurul Huq and a sister, Dilruba Islam (d. 2022). [8]

She was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1973, Ekushey Padak in 1993 and Independence Day Award in 2017 by the Government of Bangladesh.

Shahed Ali was a Bangladeshi litterateur and cultural activist. Aside from being an educationist and his journalism, he was one of the founders of the nationwide Tamaddun Majlish which initiated the Bengali language movement. He edited multiple magazines, was the founding secretary of the Islamic Academy, and is best known for his magnum opus, the short story Jibrailer Dana.

Ekushey Padak is the second highest civilian award in Bangladesh, introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Bengali Language Movement of 1952. The award is given to recognize contributions in a number of fields, including culture, education, and economics. The Ministry of Cultural Affairs administers the award.

Altaf Mahmud was a musician, cultural activist, and martyred freedom fighter of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was also a language activist of the Language Movement and composer of "Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano", the famous song written to commemorate the event.

Comilla Victoria Government College is a college in Comilla, Bangladesh. It is one of the oldest and renowned colleges in Comilla as well as in Chittagong division. The college is located beside of Ranir Dighi on 32 acres of land including its intermediate and honors section.

Hasan Hafizur Rahman became the editor of the Daily Bangla right after the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. He also worked for the government as a high official and edited an account of the independence struggle called The Liberation War of Bangladesh, which was published in sixteen volumes. Abdul Quadir was a Bangladeshi poet, essayist, and journalist. He was the recipient of Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1963 and Ekushey Padak in 1976.

In recognition of his contribution to Bengali language and literature, the government of Bangladesh awarded him the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2018.
