The Moga Municipal Corporation is a nagar nigam (municipal corporation) which administers the city of Moga, Punjab. It has 50 members elected with a first-past-the-post voting system and 1 ex-officio members which is MLA for Moga Assembly Constituency. The corporation was founded 2011, and the first elections were held in 2015. [3]
The mayor of Moga is the elected chief of the Municipal Corporation of Moga. The mayor is the first citizen of the city. The role is largely ceremonial as the real powers are vested in the Municipal Commissioner. [4] The mayor plays a decorative role of representing and upholding the dignity of the city and a functional role in deliberating over the discussions in the corporation. [5]

Mohali, officially known as Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, is a planned city in the Mohali district in Punjab, India, which is an administrative and a commercial hub lying south-west of Chandigarh. It is the headquarters of the Mohali district and one of the six Municipal Corporations of the State. It is officially named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh, the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh.

The Municipal Corporation Mohali (MCM) also known as Municipal Corporation SAS Nagar is the civic body that governs the planned city of Mohali in Punjab, India. Mohali is also the headquarters of the Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district, popularly known as SAS Nagar, of the Punjab State.There are 50 wards of the city. There was 60.48% voter turnout in first election held on 22 February 2015.

Municipal corporation mechanisms in India was introduced during British Rule with formation of municipal corporation in Madras (Chennai) in 1688, later followed by municipal corporations in Bombay (Mumbai) and Calcutta (Kolkata) by 1762. However the process of introduction for an elected President in the municipalities was made in Lord Mayo's Resolution of 1870. Since then the current form and structure of municipal bodies followed is similar to Lord Ripon's Resolution adopted in 1882 on local self-governance. The 74th Constitutional Amendment Act of 1992 was introduced providing for the transfer of 18 different powers to urban local bodies, including the election of a mayor and to recognise them which included municipal corporations, Nagar Panchayats, Municipal Councils.
The elections for the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation were held on 24 December 2021. 203 candidates campaigned for 35 seats in the Chandigarh election. Election results were declared on 27 December 2021.
