Mohali, officially Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, is a planned city in the Mohali district in Punjab, India, which is an administrative and a commercial hub lying south-west of Chandigarh. It is the headquarters of the Mohali district and one of the six Municipal Corporations of the State. It is officially named after Sahibzada Ajit Singh, the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh.

Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Inter State Bus Terminus or Mohali Bus Stand is an India's first air conditioned bus station located in the sector 56-57 of Mohali city. It was constructed at a cost of ₹700 crore (US$84 million) and opened to public on 16 December 2016. It will have 1844 Punjab Roadways buses with 1810 ordinary and 34 super integral coach AC buses.

In 2019 Government of Punjab decided to upgrade Batala Municipal council into Municipal Corporation, earlier it was a municipal council.
The elections for the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation were held on 24 December 2021. 203 candidates campaigned for 35 seats in the Chandigarh election. Election results were declared on 27 December 2021.
The Patiala Municipal Corporation is a nagar nigam which administers the city of Patiala, Punjab. It has 60 members elected with a first-past-the-post voting system and 3 ex-officio members which are MLAs for Patiala, Patiala Rural, and Sanour. The corporation was founded on 24 September 1997, and the first elections were held in June 2002.
The Moga Municipal Corporation is a nagar nigam which administers the city of Moga, Punjab. It has 50 members elected with a first-past-the-post voting system and 1 ex-officio members which is MLA for Moga Assembly Constituency. The corporation was founded 2011, and the first elections were held in 2015.
Kulwant Singh Rauke is a Sikh activist and politician. He was a key aid to the fundamentalist organization Waris Punjab De and its chief Amritpal Singh.
