Among other achievements, Mostafa Mansour was the nation's first competitor in sprint canoeing while fencer Shaimaa El-Gammal became the first Egyptian female to appear in four editions of the Olympics.
Anouar Ben Naceur is a Tunisian former swimmer, who specialized in freestyle events. He won a silver medal in the 400 m freestyle at the 2003 All-Africa Games in Abuja, Nigeria, placing second behind fellow Tunisian Oussama Mellouli with a time of 4:06.51.
Mounir Jelili was a Tunisian handball player. He was a member of the Tunisia men's national handball team. He was part of the team at the 1972 Summer Olympics playing one match and at the 1976 Summer Olympics. On club level he played for Espérance ST in Tunis.
