Mohammed Michael "Mo" George (born 11 March 1982) is a British actor who played Gus Smith on the soap opera EastEnders from 2002 to 2008.
Mohammed Michael George was born to a Jamaican mother and Antiguan father, in Hackney, London, England.
Before appearing in EastEnders, George made guest appearances in Holby City , Bottom (as a young trick-or-treater in the episode Terror), Kidulthood and The Last Detective . He also starred as Dennis in the children's program Renford Rejects in 2000.
George has a daughter, Olivia Destiny. His daughter was born in 2005 in Barnet, Greater London. [1]
George was arrested on 8 December 2006 for a suspected assault on girlfriend Emma Archibald during an argument outside a restaurant. [2] She corroborated the claims, in what started as an argument over who should empty the dishwasher. [3] George was cautioned by the police for having swung a bag of rubbish, [4] and was subsequently suspended by EastEnders Executive Producer Diederick Santer for two months. He apologised to the BBC and the show's producers. [5] It was announced on 18 January 2008 that George and EastEnders had reached a mutual agreement not to renew his contract and he left the show after six years, later in 2008. [6] George has since stated that he was "forced" to leave EastEnders after the bosses there believed newspaper headlines which he later proved wrong. He has also admitted to suffering from depression as a result of his departure from EastEnders. [7]
In March 2009, George started libel action against The Sun newspaper, claiming that they said he was "acting like a wild animal" and branded him a "woman beater" and that this was untrue. His lawyer said the reports had "damaged his prospects as an actor". The newspaper contested the claim, [8] but George won £75,000 libel damages on 2 April 2009. [9] In July 2010, the Daily Star apologised and paid damages to George after they incorrectly reported that he had arrived drunk to an EastEnders 25th anniversary party and acted aggressively to the programme's producers. [10]
George is now a full-time DJ playing around clubs across the United Kingdom.
In June 2016, George was nominated for best actor alongside Idris Elba, Shone Romulus, and Emmanuel Imani at the 2016 British Urban Film festival for his role in "Murder Capital" a short film written and directed by Rob Woods.

EastEnders is a British television soap opera created by Julia Smith and Tony Holland which has been broadcast on BBC One since February 1985. Set in the fictional borough of Walford in the East End of London, the programme follows the stories of local residents and their families as they go about their daily lives. Within eight months of the show's original launch, it had reached the number one spot in BARB's television ratings, and has consistently remained among the top-rated series in Britain. Four EastEnders episodes are listed in the all-time top 10 most-watched programmes in the UK, including the number one spot, when over 30 million watched the 1986 Christmas Day episode. EastEnders has been important in the history of British television drama, tackling many subjects that are considered to be controversial or taboo in British culture, and portraying a social life previously unseen on UK mainstream television.
The News of the World was a weekly national "red top" tabloid newspaper published every Sunday in the United Kingdom from 1843 to 2011. Kirsty "Dotty" Cotton is a fictional character from the BBC soap opera EastEnders, played by Molly Conlin from 2008 to 2010 and Milly Zero from 2019 to 2022. She was introduced on 26 December 2008 as the daughter of established character Nick Cotton. Nick uses Dotty as his partner-in-crime; they plan to kill his mother Dot Branning and inherit the money from her will. She and Dot subsequently become close after Dotty sabotages Nick's murder attempt at the last minute. In her final storyline which aired on 23 February 2010, she left with her mother Sandy, who she believed died. On 3 October 2019, Dotty returned, with the role recast to Milly Zero. In December 2021, Sandy tells her that she is not Nick's daughter and that her father is Tom "Rocky" Cotton. However, in September 2022, this is revealed to be a lie. On 13 November 2022, it was announced that Zero had quit the show and Dotty left on 16 December 2022.

Wellard is a Belgian Tervuren dog from the BBC soap opera EastEnders. His character first appeared in the series on 18 October 1994, and became EastEnders' longest-serving pet, before being killed off on 15 August 2008. Although the character is male, he has been played primarily by three female dogs: Zenna, her daughter Chancer, and her granddaughter Kyte. A fourth dog briefly served as a replacement for Zenna in 1996, when she was given time off from the show to have a litter of puppies.
