Mohd Osman bin Mohd Jailu is a Malaysian politician. He was the Member of Perak State Legislative Assembly for Changkat Jering from 2008 to 2013.
Mohd Osman was active in PKR and agreed to the ideology of Anwar Ibrahim. His experience as a leader in the army got him a lot of support in Changkat Jering.
Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi,Hee Yit Foong and him has caused the Pakatan Rakyat government to be toppled by being independent politician in the 2009 Perak constitutional crisis. However,they did not join other party to keep themselves away from legal problems. [1]

The North–South Expressway Northern Route is an interstate controlled-access highway running parallel to the northwestern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The 460-kilometre (290-mile) expressway forms the north section of the North–South Expressway,passing through the northwestern states of Kedah,Penang,Perak and Selangor. The expressway begins at the Bukit Kayu Hitam checkpoint in Kedah where the Malaysia–Thailand border lies,and ends at Bukit Lanjan in Selangor where the expressway interchanges with the New Klang Valley Expressway. The expressway is operated by PLUS Expressways.
Federal Route 60 is a federal road in Perak,Malaysia. The road connects Changkat Jering in the north to Kampung Koh in the south. The roads also a main route to North–South Expressway Northern Route via Changkat Jering Interchange.
The West Coast Expressway (E32) is an interstate controlled-access highway running along the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The 233-kilometre (145-mile) expressway is currently under construction,with several sections open for public use. Once completed,the expressway will run between Changkat Jering,Perak and Banting,Selangor,following federal routes 5 and 60 for most of its route. The expressway will operate in three sections,with sections of federal route 5 completing the missing connections;these sections will be upgraded to limited-access roads. The expressway is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2024,except for a 10 km stretch from Section 7B which is expected to be completed by June 2026.

The 2007 Bukit Gantang bus crash was the worst road accident in Malaysian history before the 2010 Cameron Highlands bus crash and 2013 Genting Highlands bus crash which claimed 27 and 37 lives respectively. Twenty passengers of the Super Express bus were killed in the accident which took place near Bukit Berapit,Bukit Gantang,Changkat Jering,Perak. It occurred on 13 August 2007 at 4.40 am,when the bus driver,Rohizan Abu Bakar,lost control of the bus as it was going down an incline and it crashed into a ditch at the 229th kilometre of the North–South Expressway.

The 2009 Perak constitutional crisis was a political dispute in Malaysia over the legitimacy of the Perak state government formed in February 2009. It began when three Pakatan Rakyat state legislators defected,causing a collapse of the state government. The Sultan of Perak then refused First Minister Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin's request to dissolve the state assembly and call elections. Instead,the Barisan Nasional (BN),with support from the three defecting assemblymen,formed the new state government.
The Sultan Azlan Shah Bridge or Jambatan Sultan Azlan Shah is the longest river-crossing bridge in the North–South Expressway network. The bridge crosses Perak River in Perak,Malaysia,spanning 360 metres. It was officially opened on 17 September 1987 by the late Almarhum Sultan Azlan Shah of Perak in conjunction with the opening of the Ipoh North–Changkat Jering sections of the North–South Expressway Northern Route.
