Mollanepes is a town and capital of Wekilbazar District, Mary Province, Turkmenistan. [1] It is located approximately 10 kilometers east of the city of Mary.
The official name is "Town named for Mollanepes". The town was renamed by decree in 1993 in honor of a prominent 19th-century Turkmen writer, Kadyrberdy Ogly Mollanepes. Prior to that it was named in honor of Pavel Poltoratskiy, a Russian revolutionary.
Mollanepes is served by the M37 highway, a rail station on the Trans-Caspian Railway, the Karakum Canal, and the Mary International Airport.
Ahal Region is one of five provinces of Turkmenistan. It is in the south-center of the country, bordering Iran and Afghanistan along the Kopet Dag Range. Its area is 97,160 km2 (37,510 sq mi) and population 886,845.
Balkan Region is the westernmost of the five regions of Turkmenistan. Clockwise from north it borders Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan (north); two provinces of Turkmenistan (east), Iran (south), and the Caspian Sea (west). The capital city is Balkanabat, formerly known as Nebit Dag. The region's boundaries are identical to those of the former Krasnovodsk Oblast', a Soviet-era province of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic with its capital in the city of Krasnovodsk. This oblast was liquidated and restored repeatedly in the 20th century, concluding with its abolition in 1988. However, the administrative boundaries of the region were restored in 1991 when Balkan Region was established with its capital being moved to Nebit Dag which was later renamed Balkanabat.
Daşoguz Region is one of the regions of Turkmenistan. It is in the north of the country, bordering Uzbekistan. The area of the province is 73,430 square kilometers, and the total population is 1,550,354. The capital is Daşoguz.
Lebap Region is one of the regions of Turkmenistan. It is in the northeast of the country, bordering Afghanistan, Uzbekistan along the Amu Darya. Its administrative centre is Türkmenabat. It has an area of 93,727 square kilometers, and a population of 1,447,298 people.
Mary Region is one of five provinces in Turkmenistan. It is located in the south-east of the country, bordering Afghanistan. Its capital is the city of Mary. Its area is 87,150 km2 (33,650 sq mi) and population 1,613,386. The average population density is about 15 persons per square kilometer, but it reaches 150–200 per square kilometer in the most developed oases.

The Turkmenistan Cup is an annual football tournament for Turkmen clubs. The cup has been contested since 1993. The competition's most successful performer is Köpetdag Aşgabat with 7 trophies. The winner of the competition ordinarily got a spot in the AFC Challenge League group stage. The cup winners play a match for the Turkmenistan Super Cup against the Ýokary Liga champions of the season.
Etrek is a city and administrative center of Etrek District in Balkan Province, Turkmenistan. It is located on the Atrek River bordering on Iran. The city's and district's name was changed to Etrek in December 1999 by Parliamentary Resolution HM-63.

Serdar Gurbangulyýewiç Berdimuhamedow is a Turkmen politician serving as the third and current president of Turkmenistan since 19 March 2022. Berdimuhamedow had previously served in several other positions within the government of his father, Gurbanguly, the long-standing authoritarian ruler of Turkmenistan. The father and son entered into a power-sharing arrangement in 2022 whereby they jointly rule an authoritarian system of government in Turkmenistan.

Dostluk is a city in Köýtendag District, Lebap Province, Turkmenistan. On 27 July 2016 by Resolution No. 425-V it was upgraded from town status to a city. In 2010 the village of Azatlyk was subordinated to Dostluk.
Görogly, previously called Tagta, is a city subordinate to a district and the administrative center of Görogly District, Daşoguz Province, Turkmenistan. It is located 20 kilometers south of the city of Daşoguz.
