Monika Anna Jaruzelska (born 11 August 1963, Warsaw) is a Polish journalist. She is the daughter of former Polish President Wojciech Jaruzelski and his wife Barbara Jaruzelska.
Jaruzelska was born in 1963 in Warsaw. She graduated in Polish studies from the University of Warsaw, and she also studied psychology. Jaruzelska founded the School of Style and was the author of Monika Jaruzelska invites (which broadcast for two years on Fridays on Radio Chilli Zet) and Without Masks. [1]
In the early 1990s, she co-founded the monthly magazine Twój Styl (Your Style), and for 8 years directed fashion and styling department. Jaruzelska also served as creative director and board member of the group, which was composed of, among other things the company Kruk i Deni Cler and Deni Cler. [2] She also published in the magazine Existence [3] [4] She also worked with the magazine Place for Dance. [5]
Jaruzelska wrote her autobiography, Comrade Lady, published in April 2013, [6] and its sequels, Family (April 2014) and Breath (May 2015).
Jaruzelska hosts a program on her YouTube channel called "Towarzyszka Panienka" (Comrade Lady) to which she regularly invites representatives of the far-right circles, and people promoting antisemitism, homophobia and conspiracy theories. [7] As a consequence of that Jaruzelska's name appeared in the 2020 and 2021 issues of the Brown Book, a publication tracing acts of violence and hate speech by the Never Again Association. [8]

Disco polo is a genre of popular dance music, created in Poland in the 1980s. It was initially known as sidewalk music or backyard music. This genre, a type of Polish urban folk music, had great popularity in the 1990s, peaking in 1995–1997, then gradually declining in popularity through the early 21st century. The genre then had a resurgence in the winter of 2007. The Polish PWN dictionary defines the genre as a Polish variant of disco music, with simple melodies and often ribald lyrics.
TVP Info is a Polish free-to-air television news channel, run by the public state broadcaster TVP. It is focused on newscasts, mainly broadcasting nationwide news bulletins. Milionerzy (Millionaires) is a Polish game show based on the original British format of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The show is hosted by Hubert Urbański. The main goal of the game is to win 1 million Polish złoty by answering twelve multiple-choice questions correctly. There are three classic lifelines – ask the audience, fifty fifty and phone a friend – and also two other lifelines – ask the expert and switch the question. From March to December 2010 contestant could choose risk game, where the second guaranteed sum was not guaranteed. The first version of Milionerzy was broadcast from 3 September 1999 to 26 January 2003, the second version was broadcast from 19 January 2008 to 19 December 2010, and the third version has been broadcast since 9 February 2017. Since 2017, it is shown every Monday to Thursday at 8:50 p.m. or 8:55 p.m. on the Polish commercial television station TVN. The executive producer of the program was Endemol in the first version, Intergalactic in the second version, and Jake Vision in the third version. Since 2008, when a contestant gets the second question correct, they will leave with 1,000 zł. When a contestant gets the seventh question correct, they will leave with 40,000 zł.
Television in Poland was introduced on an experimental basis in 1937. It was state owned, and was interrupted by the Second World War in 1939. Television returned to Poland in 1952 and for several decades was controlled by the communist government. Colour television was introduced in Poland in 1971. Private television stations in Poland appeared around the time of the fall of communism, with PTV Echo becoming the first private station in Poland.

Media Without Choice was a one-day protest against the government of Poland due to a proposed tax on advertising. The protests began on 10 February 2021 and participants included paper journals, press-related internet portals, television stations, radio stations, and information portals. They protested by ceasing their usual activities, such as the publishing of news or advertisements, and turning off their transmissions.
