Monisha Ghosh is an electrical engineer. She was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2015 [1] for her contributions to cognitive radio and signal processing for communication systems.

On December 22, 2019, Ghosh was appointed as the first woman chief technology officer at the US government's Federal Communications Commission. [2]

She holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California in 1991. She is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. [3] She is also a research professor at the University of Chicago.

She served as a rotating program director at the National Science Foundation from September 2017 to December 2019 in the Computer and Network System Division within the Directorate of Computer and Information Science and Engineering. Previously, she worked at InterDigital, Philips Research and Bell Laboratories. [2]

A prolific award-winning researcher, educator, and inventor, with hundreds of publications and a number of acclaimed patents to his credit, he has pioneered several research areas including in computational speech science, speech and human language technologies, audio, music and multimedia engineering, human sensing and imaging technologies, emotions research and affective computing, behavioral signal processing, and computational media intelligence. His technical contributions cover a range of applications including in defense, security, health, education, media, and the arts. Subhasis Chaudhuri is an Indian electrical engineer and former director at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He is a former K. N. He is known for his pioneering studies on computer vision and is an elected fellow of all the three major Indian science academies viz. the National Academy of Sciences, India, Indian Academy of Sciences, and Indian National Science Academy. He is also a fellow of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and the Indian National Academy of Engineering. Neelesh B. Mehta is an Indian communications engineer, inventor and a professor at the Department of Electrical and Communications Engineering of the Indian Institute of Science who studies wireless networks.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Andrea Goldsmith (engineer)</span> American electrical engineer

Andrea Goldsmith is an American electrical engineer and the Dean of Engineering and Applied Science at Princeton University. She is also the Arthur LeGrand Doty Professor of Electrical Engineering at Princeton. She was previously the Stephen Harris Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University, as well as a faculty affiliate at the Stanford Neurosciences Institute. Her interests are in the design, analysis and fundamental performance limits of wireless systems and networks, and in the application of communication theory and signal processing to neuroscience. She also co-founded and served as chief technology officer of Plume WiFi and Quantenna Communications.
