Moonlight Sonata is the 2nd EP and the final release from American progressive metal band The Human Abstract. [1] The EP was released on February 14, 2012, and is a cover of all three parts of Ludwig van Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata". [2] [3]

Critical reception

The ensemble likens the song to “Dean Shreds Beethoven” while Axl Rosenberg of MetalSucks describes the albums as "the best two bucks you'll ever spend today". Rosenberg goes on to say that the band added heavy metal to the song, and that the song purports that there exists "distinct and definite connection between classical music and metal". [1]

The Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, marked Quasi una fantasia, Op. 27, No. 2, is a piano sonata by Ludwig van Beethoven. The Human Abstract (band)

The Human Abstract is an American metalcore band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 2004, the group was originally signed to the independent label Hopeless Records, the band then released the two albums Nocturne (2006) and Midheaven (2008) before signing to eOne Music and releasing Digital Veil (2011). The Human Abstract has gone through several lineup changes over the years, with the current consisting of founding members Dean Herrera, A.J. Minette and Brett Powell, in addition to Henry Selva and Travis Richter.

Midheaven is The Human Abstract's second full-length release on Hopeless Records. It was released on August 19, 2008. The album was originally recorded with producer Toby Wright,however the band has "wiped off all credits" of his effort. The record was later re-worked and finished by Leonard Simone and Jesse E. String.

Emil Werstler

Emil Werstler is an American guitarist and musician based in Atlanta, Georgia, who is perhaps best known for his work with metal and gypsy jazz. In 2004, Werstler became lead guitarist for the metal band Dååth, whose second album The Hinderers peaked at No. 49 on the Top Heatseekers chart in 2007. In 2009 Dååth released The Concealers on Roadrunner, which reached No. 35 on Top Heatseekers and was placed as No. 3 on a list of the "top twenty metal albums of 2009" by Metal Sucks. In 2010 Werstler released the instrumental metal album Avalanche of Worms as a collaboration with Eyal Levi, with the album receiving a largely positive response for its musicianship and experimental nature.

Digital Veil is the third album by American progressive metal band The Human Abstract. The album was released on March 8, 2011 through E1 Music. Digital Veil marks the return of founding guitarist A.J. Minette, who left in 2007, and the introduction of the new lead vocalist Travis Richter, who replaced former vocalist Nathan Ells. The first single off the album, titled "Faust," was released digitally on November 16, 2010.

Killer Be Killed is an American heavy metal supergroup founded by The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato and Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy and ex-Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera in early 2011. The lineup also features Mastodon bassist and co-vocalist Troy Sanders and Converge drummer Ben Koller. The band had slowly been working on material before announcing its name in October 2013, along with their signing to Nuclear Blast. The group's self-titled debut record was released on May 13, 2014.
